Reviews
The location is excellent, just a short walk from the station and close to the Akihabara district, making it a great base for exploring Tokyo. We stayed in a triple room with a very large bed, and we slept very well. However, the room was extremely small, which made it a bit cramped. Breakfast was good, but the selection was quite limited. As for the staff, we didn't find them particularly friendly, at least the ones we interacted with during our stay. Overall, I would recommend this hotel, especially because of its excellent location. It's a convenient and well-positioned choice for visiting Tokyo.
Tosei Hotel Cocone Ueno Okachimachi offers a relatively spacious room compared to other hotels in Japan. The only downside is that there are only two elevators, so you may have to wait quite a while during morning checkout. However, I really like the coffee machine at the front desk. If you enjoy reading manga, there are plenty of manga books available to borrow right next to the counter.
+ The bed was very comfy and it was very quiet, so we had a good night sleep. The room was very clean. We appreciated the complementary coffee and tea. But the highlight is the location: Ueno is a great neighborhood to stay when visiting Tokyo and Tosei Hotel is really close to shops, restaurants, JR and Metro lines. - The room is really small (like the majority of Tokyo hotel rooms, actually). Opening a large suitcase is really challenging (we opened ours in front of the door, but had to move it when getting in and out of the room).
As an American if you are expecting large rooms and the typical USA experience, dont come here with that mindset. This is a lovely small room that has the basic needs met. Used their washing machine which for airport clothes was a must. It had all the basic needs met, and for someone who spent most of their days walking the city i had no complaints. Any splatters mentioned in previous comments were gone in our rooms so I think they take these reviews into consideration. They left our stuff untouched when cleaning the rooms (other than bed) which was nice since I am particular with my things. Yes the shower is small with the bathroom but in all honesty im a student traveling for fun and used the public transport for 95% of my trip, if you are past retirement age maybe up your price range and look for something else. For all the city/student folk from america; great stay, meets all basic needs, close to station and close to market.it is a bit out there to get to shibuya (30-45min public transport) but i honestly didnt have much issues. Took a little power nap on my way here.
We had a wonderful experience at Tosei Hotel Cocone Ueno Okachimachi. The staff was incredibly warm and always ready to help with a great attitude, making us feel welcome from the very first moment. The location is unbeatable. It is just a short walk away from multiple subway and JR stations, which made exploring Tokyo and catching the Shinkansen incredibly easy. The room was perfectly clean, and we were impressed that it was spotlessly maintained every single day of our stay. If you are looking for a hotel that combines comfort, cleanliness, and excellent connectivity in Tokyo, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!
