Everything we ordered was delicious, and we ordered a lot. But the staff were the real highlight, warm and attentive from start to finish without ever making it feel stiff. The pool is a great touch and the view of the park is even better. The kind of place that just gets hospitality right. Thank you for taking such good care of us. Five stars.

I’m going to give it 5 stars because the service and location make up for the quirks of the room. The staff (housekeeping, front desk, and the bartenders) were very warm and easy to talk to. Overall, the aesthetic of the hotel was amazing. The plants (on the rooftop and the room balconies) are well curated and maintained. The lighting is definitely thoughtful and what you’d expect from a luxury accommodation. I enjoyed their signature scent (in the common areas), which was both distinct and relaxing. The rooftop is definitely the highlight of the hotel. Even on a rainy night, the warm outdoor pool and the nature views gave a unique vibe you’re not going to get from other hotels. The location is perfect! You are surrounded by quaint, cute shops (coffee, home goods, clothing, food). At the same time, you’re just a 10-15 minute walk to the craziness of Shibuya. Now the quirks… you’ll see that the bathroom sink is essentially the headboard of the bed. Even if you’re careful, a little bit of water will splash on the bed. You’re probably thinking: wouldn’t the person sleeping on the bed get a sprinkle of water while you wash your hands? Yes, it happened multiple times. Also, the video can show you that you hear every single car passing by. I understand that cities can be loud, but I’ve never experienced this from all the other Tokyo hotels I’ve stayed in. I definitely was not expecting this from a luxury hotel that is supposed to be an escape from the city. This wasn’t a problem for me, but some of you might want to know that there are is no TV in the room.

The staff are genuinely lovely, and the location is convenient. The mini fridges also include locally sourced options. However, everything else is unacceptable for a hotel at this price point. The “park view” rooms are actually “major-arterial-road view” rooms. The noise is astonishing. The poorly sealed rooms also allow smoke to enter from the street outside. The rooms themselves are bizarrely laid out. The shower and toilet cubicles are cavernous, taking up half the room. The door detailing makes them look like they’re on the set of a SAW movie. The rest of the room is tiny by comparison. So small, in fact, that the sink splashes onto the pillows if you’re not careful. The infinity pool is pretty, but cramped and crowded. Overall, not a relaxing or enjoyable stay. Great for photos, though.

Our favorite hotel on our two week Japan honeymoon!!! There is SO much to say! The rooms are tasteful and well stocked; we loved the daily treats from cookies, to chocolate, and lovely tea selections. The beds are super comfy and despite the rooms being a typical, cozy size for Tokyo, they are really well laid out and we never felt crowded. The entire hotel is beautiful, and we loved the rooftop pool and lounge for breakfast, coffee, and cocktails. The service was also A+! I injured my foot right before leaving for Tokyo and was in so much more pain than I expected. The hotel was so helpful to recommend local doctors, pharmacies, and services where I could find boots / crutches, etc. The injury was a wrench in the trip but the entire TRUNK team was determined to make me comfortable! They delivered me ice packs every night to help with swelling. 🥹 Lastly, the location is unbeatable. The proximity to Shibuya (15 min walk), Yoyogi Park (literally across the street), Meiji Jingu, having Fuglen coffee right next to the hotel, and so much more was amazing. I will stay here every trip in the future and cannot recommend TRUNK enough!!!!

I stayed here with my wife for our honeymoon. It was an incredible stay. We enjoyed it so much we extended our stay there. The staff are very friendly and attentive in all areas of the hotel. The images of the hotel match the reality of it. Location is excellent, walk to Yoyogi park which was a tranquil highlight of our trip or walk to the bustling Shibuya area. There is great public transport options nearby also. We feel very fortunate to have found this hotel and we are very excited to go back. I believe the 5 stars are most evident in the service provided by the staff, if I was the owner of the hotel I would be very proud of them.
