Craft Beer Bar Ibrew Akihabara

Overall it is not a bad place: lot of people, good food, and good beer. For this, it would normally be 4 stars for me. There are looking for a meal in Tokyo, there are better venues for lunch or dinner. Not bad, but overall falls short of nerby places. As for beer, I am so much disappointed. Beers are not bad, but for a place with 50 taps I expected more: flat beers with no foam, and when asked why staff told me (summarized) "lagers have foam, like weizen, ales do not". I may have had too high expectations, being a brewer and a Doemens Biersommelier.. If you like beer, you can try this palce. If you love beer, there better places.
The beer was easy to order despite the language barrier. They played R&B in Japanese which was delightfully weird as well as other covers and genres. The food was delicious even though the pepperoni pizza was paper thin. Lastly, the beer was really good. There is something for everyone who loves beer. Another plus is that the tables were spacious enough for everyone to be sat comfortably. I would definitely come back again! 😊
At first, Craft Bar Ibrew strikes you as an impressive find: large seating area, a number of different Japanese beers on tap, a solid food menu, and what appeared to be fair pricing. Unfortunately, the pricing is somewhat misleading so be warned. Beer flights consist of two prices: the price for each glass in the flight and an unclear up-charge on the beer choice. This up-charge ended up nearly doubling the price of the flight. Ouch.
A lively bar with a huge selection of craft beers on tap. The service was quick and attentive and staff friendly. The atmosphere in the bar was warm and pleasant. The beer (American Red Ale and Golden Ale) that I had was very good and the Mac and Cheese was nice, but the menu selection could’ve been better, although it could be the photographs in the menu don’t do the food justice. note that the full portion size is not overly big, so be wary of ordering the half size portions. Overall, definitely worth a visit if you like craft beer
