Excellent location and has all the needed amenities! Front desk folks were also very kind. That being said, it's more of a "motel" with the dated rooms and no card key system. I wouldn't have minded that much if the price had been better- but unfortunately we went during peak cherry blossom season and they charged a whopping $250 PER NIGHT. Absolutely ridiculous.
The location is superb, in the middle of Ikebukuro, close to Sunshine City with many shops, restaurants and supermarket closeby. The room itself is a tad bigger than I expected, compared to other comparable hotels I've been in Tokyo, the bathroom is still pretty small though. There are 3 washing machines in the building, depending on the time and demand, they might be in use. There was no need to get detergent, as this was included in the machine. The ground floor also had some vending machines and a microwave. Every floor has a ice cube dispenser and water/tea dispenser. The free wifi was unsecured, and worse than my my eSim's connection, so I did not use it. The bathroom door was a bit damaged and not able to lock, at some times there was a bad sewer smell coming from the bath tub. There are 3 washing machines for the entire hotel, a big load takes 2 hours, so at peak times it might be hard to find an available machine. When leaving the hotel you have to return the key, and request for the key when coming back. With multiple people it's inconvenient when you only have one key available. The staff was very helpful with supporting me sending a package within Japan, making a photocopy when I needed to print something, and reserving a taxi when leaving early in the morning.
The hotel is very well located, a few mins walk to Ikebukuro station and the limousin airport bus stop at Sunshine prince hotel. It's true that the room is tiny but it has all amenities you may need. The staff are friendly and always helpful. All in all, it's money well spent considering thsat the rates are quite affirdable. Great breakfast, too.

Cons • Fixed Climate Control: During my stay in cold weather, the building was set to heating only with no central AC. Because the temperature isn't adjustable, the room became quite hot and stuffy. While opening the window helped cool things down, it did let in significant street noise. • Traditional Key System: The hotel uses physical keys rather than access cards. Guests are required to return the key to the front desk every time they leave the building, even for a quick trip to a convenience store. Overall Verdict This is a solid choice for travelers who prioritize a fantastic location and great service. However, if you are looking for a sleek, modern hotel with high-tech amenities and individual climate control, this might not be the best fit for you.
The hotel is conveniently located near many amenities, with plenty of shopping and foods options around. Daily housekeeping is provided, and towels are changed every day. The rooms are a little old, but they are clean and offer good value for money.
