In the heart of Ikebukoro, adjacent to the bustling JR station, it doesn’t get any better in terms of location and convenience. The metropolitan exit offers direct access to JR and Tobu railway platform in 5 minutes. Ikebukuro is also home to many limited express train services and serve as an excellent base if you are exploring Chicibu and Nikko regions. During our trip we managed to stay in 2 rooms type where both are excellent. It’s comfortable and much spacious versus other Tokyo hotel chain. The hospitality is warm and outstanding. There are also direct bus services to both Narita and Haneda airport.
Concierge boy Staff 館岡 is helpful and rapid response at the issue. At one night, we remember that we left the Pokémon toys in the hotpot shop. Since we don’t have local telephone, we find you staff at the concierge at midnight. After we telling to your staff, he help us call the shop and mention the details. He helped us find back the toys. We appreciate his sincere of help. Thank you so much.

Exceptional Service What truly set this stay apart was the service. Every member of the team was professional and welcoming, but the guest relations and bell staff went above and beyond. They were incredibly helpful with our bags and provided excellent assistance in organizing the return of a parcel for us via post. Their willingness to assist with these logistics took a huge weight off our shoulders. Overall Verdict: If you are looking for a reliable, comfortable, and well-serviced hotel near Ikebukuro Station, this is an excellent choice. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo Ikebukuro (ホテルメトロポリタン) and would absolutely return. The location is fantastic — tucked slightly away from the busiest streets of Ikebukuro, yet incredibly convenient. It feels safe and secure, especially being right next to a police station, and just a short walk to the subway. There are multiple convenience stores right around the corner, including 7‑Eleven, Lawson, and FamilyMart, which made grabbing snacks or essentials effortless. Despite being so centrally located, the hotel itself was peaceful and quiet — something I truly appreciated after long days out exploring. My room on the 7th floor was recently renovated, clean, and very cozy. I loved the thoughtful touches, such as complimentary bottled water in the fridge and a humidifier in the room — small details that made a big difference in comfort. What truly made this stay exceptional, however, was the staff. They deserve a 10/10 rating. Every team member I encountered was incredibly thoughtful, courteous, and genuinely warm. They assisted with my luggage, greeted me kindly each time, and always seemed one step ahead in anticipating guests’ needs. Their hospitality elevated the entire experience. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Tokyo and will definitely be returning on my next trip.
We booked 2 rooms and stayed 4 nights. We caught a direct bus from Narita airport for $35 AUD each and it stopped at the hotel. It’s a super convenient location and close to Ikebukuro train station. The hotel is in a a family friendly safe neighbourhood in my opinion. We forgot a pair of eyeglasses in the hotel room when we checked-out. When we contacted the hotel, they located the lost item and mailed it to our next hotel. We are grateful for their service. 5 stars!! 🌟
