I checked into Toyoko Inn Ikebukuro North Exit 1 in March 2026 looking for an affordable, no-drama base near Ikebukuro Station. My economy double was only about twelve square meters, but the layout felt genuinely clever: bed against the window, a long desk that fits real work, storage under the bed for a big suitcase, and a wall-mounted TV that keeps the footprint open. The view was just the next building, my window would not open, and the unit bath shows its age compared with brand-new hotels—yet water pressure was strong, surfaces were spotless, and I slept soundly even with a room beside the elevator once I drew the blackout curtains. The public areas round out the value. I used the free lobby lockers constantly, grabbed only the amenities I needed from the pickup counter, and refilled on complimentary coffee and water until midnight. Breakfast was a hearty Japanese-and-Western buffet with rotating extras; when the dining corner filled up, I appreciated being able to pack something simple and eat upstairs. Coin laundry on site made longer stays practical. I had a lovely 2 week stay. The staff was very very nice, polite and helpfull, the room was very comfortable and I always looked forward to come "home" in the evening. I hope to visit you again soon!
Good location nearby shoppes and the local metro station. Service was good. Linens were changed on schedule and according to their green initiative. Washer and dryer on premise. Quiet evenings without disturbance. I'd recommend them for any short to medium term stay.
