Absolutely a great experience. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Hotel room was clean and spacious. Location is great and right next to the temple. We will stay here over and over again!
We had a wonderful stay at EN HOTEL Asakusa and would highly recommend it, especially for families visiting Tokyo. The location is definitely one of the biggest highlights. The hotel sits right in front of one of the entrances to Senso-ji Temple, making it incredibly convenient for exploring Asakusa. Being able to step outside and immediately be in such a historic and lively part of Tokyo was very special. The staff were genuinely kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel has a minimal, apartment-style feel, but everything is thoughtfully designed and well maintained. We really appreciated the little touches, including complimentary coffee and matcha from the automatic machine, a free ice machine, and laundry facilities. Our room even had its own washer and dryer, with shared machines also available. Our room was surprisingly spacious for three people by Tokyo standards, and we were very comfortable. The beds and linens were excellent, and after walking around Tokyo all day, having a bathtub to soak in at the end of the day was a real treat. Overall, we were very happy with our stay. The combination of the fantastic location, comfortable room, good-quality facilities, and lovely staff made this a great choice for our family. Highly recommended — and we would definitely stay here again the next time we visit Tokyo!
I was worried because there weren't many reviews, but I am very satisfied. I booked the smallest room. Pros 1. The hotel staff are friendly and cheerful. 2. The terrace view is breathtaking. There are chairs on the terrace, so it feels great to have a beer while looking at the view. 3. The hairdryer has strong airflow, which is great, and the body wash scent is the best. 4. The air conditioning is powerful. 5. It is only a 1-minute walk from Sensoji Temple. I don't think there are any particular downsides. Perhaps because it is a remodeled hotel, it is clean overall.
Because it was a newly opened hotel, there were no reviews online yet, so I was a little uneasy before checking in. But after actually checking in, I felt like, "I wish I had stayed a few more nights!" The three of us stayed in room 501. When we checked in in the afternoon, our luggage, which we had left at the front desk that morning, was already thoughtfully placed in the room! 1. Kitchen: It was fully equipped with kitchen utensils (of course, you have to bring your own seasonings), which was very appealing because it allowed us to cook simple meals! 2. Refrigerator: It was a rare find in most hotels to have a separate freezer compartment (so we could buy ice cream with peace of mind), and we didn't have to worry about buying too many drinks! 3. Bathroom: In addition to a washer and dryer, the bathroom even had two hairdryers, and the showerhead was Refa. The view from the window was also delightful. 4. The room was a four-person room (for the three of us). It was very spacious; we could easily open three 29-inch suitcases at the same time. There was also a small round table for dining. The bed was just the right firmness...very easy to fall asleep (or maybe we were just very tired?), and the air conditioning was very strong (especially in Tokyo's sweltering summer)...this is very important! 5. I recommend going to the rooftop in the evening for panoramic views of Asakusa and Tokyo Skytree; you can take lots of photos, it's absolutely beautiful! Now that I've mentioned the great advantages, I want to talk about some things that might be a concern... 1. Because cleaning isn't done daily (I can understand this, given the shortage of manpower), housekeeping will come into the room to collect trash and change towels, but one night when I returned to the hotel, I found a bag of trash on the kitchen counter (forgot to take it away?). And the toilet paper hadn't been replenished even after several days of stay (crying)! 2. The hotel is right across from the fire station. You know how it is—fire trucks might be on call in the middle of the night. If you're a light sleeper, be aware of the sirens. We were the type who could fall back asleep after hearing them...so this wasn't a big problem. 3. The distance to the subway station is definitely not one of those 2-3 minute walks from the exit! However, the hotel is conveniently located near the Asakusa Line, Ginza Line, Tobu Railway, and Tsukuba Express, making it easily accessible. If, like us, you already have a regular routine of commuting by subway and taking walks, then this isn't so important. Besides the hotel itself, its proximity to Senso-ji Temple (where it is believed to be blessed by Kannon Bodhisattva) was also a great source of reassurance. In conclusion, we really loved this place and it will be our first choice for future stays in Asakusa!
