We stayed at Hotel New Ueno, and its location was fantastic. Situated just a short walk from Ueno Station, it provided easy access to Tokyo’s extensive rail network and the Keisei Skyliner, which offered a convenient and comfortable connection to Narita International Airport. The hotel staff were respectful, friendly, and always willing to help, making our stay pleasant and welcoming. The hotel was an ideal base for sightseeing. From Ueno, we could easily visit Asakusa and Sensō-ji Temple, explore the Imperial Palace East Gardens, experience the famous Shibuya Crossing, and shop in Kappabashi Kitchen Town. We were also close to attractions such as Ueno Park, known for its museums and seasonal cherry blossoms, as well as the lively shopping streets and restaurants around Ueno. Its central location made it simple to travel throughout Tokyo and see many of the city's most famous landmarks during our visit.
Although the room is small but its a bit bigger than any single room in the other hotel nearby. The receptionist staff are all very friendly. The hotel is very close to ueno station and ameyayoko and other shops. The room is also clean and the towels are very soft. Theh change towels everyday even i didnt ask to.
First of all, the price is really great. I chose this hotel because it was the last day of my trip and I had an early morning flight the next day. Getting to Narita Airport from here is super convenient. The location is also a big plus — it’s close to shopping spots for souvenirs like Ameyoko, and also near Ueno Park, which has a really nice and relaxing atmosphere. The hotel itself is quite old, but the room condition is still totally fine. What stood out the most was the staff — they were very attentive and provided great service. I’d definitely come back and stay here again if I get the chance.
This hotel is located near Asakusa Exit of the station. The reception area is small, and unusually, coffee costs 150 yen per cup. Check-in starts at 3 PM. The reception staff are friendly, although check-in can actually be done at 2 PM. My room was 501, small and cramped. I was only staying one night to see the Ueno cherry blossoms. They provide special little gifts for ladies: eye masks and face towels. The reception offers complimentary lavender bath salts and a bathtub. The room has a window facing the wall. After dropping off my luggage, I went to Jojotei for yakiniku (grilled meat). Suitcases can only be opened on the bed because the space is very small. The toiletries are plentiful, including three types of mud bath products. There's actually a restaurant on the third floor that's popular with locals, but I had already eaten sushi there.
We stayed at Hotel New Ueno for one night while transiting through Tokyo on our way to Sendai, and it was exactly what we needed. The location is incredibly convenient — just steps from Ueno Station, including easy access to the Shinkansen, which made our onward journey seamless and stress-free. The room was comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. While it’s not a luxury hotel, it delivers exactly what you want for a short stay: a good night’s sleep in a practical, no-fuss environment. If you’re looking for a simple, reliable, and well-located place to stay near a major transport hub, this is a great option.
