The owner is super nice and kind! He gives you books to read if you want to, and we had some nice conversations through Google Translate and English. My partner also got to talk about whisky for a while with him, so super nice place if you like whisky. The best whisky sour I have had in Tokyo :)
This intimate little bar is full of books which the bartender hands you based on your drink preferences or interests while he mixes up a tasty drink to suit your tastes. Nice relaxing and enjoyable experience.
Bar Bookshelff was a wonderful little hole in the wall that is operated by a kind and thoughtful bartender. You let him know what you're in the mood for and he makes you a cocktail! There's no set menu. The bar specializes in whiskey drinks, but he does have some other kinds of liquors as well. As implied in the name, he has a multitude of books in his bar and will happily show you a page in a book with details of the distillery where a particular whiskey was made. If you have a special interest in a topic, he will also try to give you a book for your taste. As a book lover, I loved this! As an FYI - there is a service charge. However, I think it is definitely worth it to come here for a truly curated cocktail experience.
