Our stay was wonderful. The room was spacious and beautiful, making our visit even more enjoyable. We had an amazing time watching the fireworks in Asakusa. A special thank to Giulia and Nao, who were incredibly kind, friendly, and always did their best to help us throughout our stay. We would also like to sincerely thank Chris for making our check-in smooth and welcoming. We truly appreciated everyone’s hospitality and would happily stay here again!
Our family of four stayed in a two bedroom Japanese style apartment and it was an extremely comfortable stay. We had plenty of room and the amenities like clothes washer dryer and aircon were really worth it. A stones throw from Sensoji Temple makes it easy for family outings. Very quiet inside the apartment, despite being in a tourist area. Staff offer exceptional service and are incredibly friendly Cannot rate them highly enough!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mimaru Suites Tokyo Asakusa, which has left a very high bar for us to have to reach when we come back to Japan again. Upon arrival and with each interaction, the front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating. They were very thorough at check-in with the services and amenities offered by the hotel, and there was no anxiety on our end with communicating in English. We opted for the suite with a living room that we could relax in after each day out. We appreciated how the spacious layout of the suite took away the crampness we usually experienced when staying in a hotel room with a family of four. We loved having two separate bedrooms with two separate vanities and two separate showers. It'd be cherry on top if there were two separate toilets, but having one toilet in the suite was never a major issue for us during our stay. (I believe the bathroom on the ground floor is publicly accessible and not just to employees should you need access to an additonal bathroom in a pinch.) The configuration of having a table with benches behind the couch was such a bonus for us that got used regularly by our family either in the mornings or upon our return as a nice snacking spot (and a spot for electronic devices for my digitally attached family while they ate). We were worried by reviews of other hotels with washer and dryer combos with the dryer not working, but the dryer feature of the washer-dryer in our suite definitely worked. While we brought enough clothes for our stay just in case, it was nice to not have to leave dirty laundry stuffed in our luggage during our stay. Yes, we knew to keep the loads smaller (we would run a load daily) and knew that drying time would take a lot longer, but clothes came out clean and dried. Just note that it will take closer to 4+ hours for the entire cycle to complete and your clothes may come out very wrinkly depending on fabric type given the smaller drum. The location was absolutely ideal for us. While I was a little concerned that Google Maps reported that it was a 9-minute walk to one (or more) of the train stations and thought that 9 minutes may feel like an eternity in the middle of summer in Japan, all the train stations that we've come across or used felt like a very short walk to the hotel. Especially after experiencing Shibuya and Shinjuku, we felt that Asakusa was the better fit for our family, not having to return to the hustle and bustle every night. While we thought a 40-minute train ride from the Shibuya and Shinjuku should be given consideration in our planning process, the ride times didn't bother us. I do have to caveat it with the fact that we spread out our time in Tokyo in a very manageable manner and was not racing to see as much as Tokyo as we can in one day. We only visited two neighborhoods at most each day. Other location perks include the matcha store practically downstairs that my husband visited every morning and the mini mart down the street in which my husband grabbed quick breakfasts for us before we jumped onto the train to start our day. There were plenty of restaurants and shopping options nearby if we opted to take the train back to Asakusa earlier to have dinner instead in order to beat rush hour congestion. The Don Quixote and Uniqlo were always less crowded than in other areas of Tokyo, and we were able to drop our shopping haul off in our suite before heading back out for dinner on the day we were exploring Asakusa. Senso-ji was also so much less crowded closer to sunset and at night. Cons - The smaller bedroom in our suite was situated closer to the train line across the street and would cause the occupants in that room to stir sometimes especially if they are lighter sleepers. We were usually tired enough from our days to fall right back asleep after hearing the first train of the day run. If we decide to come back to Tokyo, we would not hesitate to stay at Mimaru Suites Tokyo Asakusa again.
The staff were accommodating and kind, and the room was nice. The room included air conditioning and heat, controlled by an easy remote. We found the washrooms a bit strange, there were two showers which was nice but only one toilet in a separate room. But overall, the room was great with everything we needed. We stayed four nights, and the room got cleaned twice during our stay. We rated the service 4/5 stars because the kitchen did not get cleaned. We had left dishes over the counter and in the sink and they didn’t get washed or put away, but the beds were made and any trash on the ground was removed. The location was pretty good, but slightly difficult to find the entrance at times and there wasn’t much close by. Overall, this hotel was great and we would recommend staying here.
My family of 7 stayed at this location and it was perfect. Location was close to trains and food. 7/11 and family Mart all around the corner. Starbucks was a 3 minute walk. The staff was great and very helpful. We asked for a breakfast recommendation since nothing opened early and they gave us a cute places. The rooms were always clean and the shower pressure was just right after a long day. We had a washer/dryer in our room and it was very convenient to throw a load in before we went out. This was the hotel on the first leg of our Tokyo trip and it was more than we could ask for .
