Prostyle Ryokan Asakusa

Great room facilities with a private onsen and balcony, and a delicious breakfast: we chose Japanese style and were given a further choice of meat and carbs to complement a full set of food, including sashimi, miso soup and a variety of vegetables. The receptionist went out of her way to arrange for our suitcases to be delivered to the next hotel.
Super clean and roomy, loved staying here! The area is quiet which is a plus and its a nice walk to get around to places. Around 7 mins to the train. Everything felt clean and the breakfast was a good way to start the day if you don't want to think about what to eat. Just loved the space and that its clean, place I ended my trip on :)
This place is a no for me. It is not the Ryokan experience I expected. I researched alot or so I thought and to go to a ryokan that has no onsen. Some rooms had baths but those that didn't did not have access to a community bath for the facility. The omotenashi was non existent. Everything they promoted just didn't happen. We just treated it as another hotel. It was so disappointing. We were in a traditional room which was nice but without the experience we were just sleeping on mattresses that were on the floor. One great thing was the breakfast. I was pleasantly surprised at how his the good was despite the overall experience. The location puts you 12 minutes from the the temple. But it's in an illusive part of town far from everything else. If you are looking for a real traditional Japanese Onsen experience, this is not it. It's just a hotel that dresses it up like one. Keep searching.
This is a hotel on the “small” side, but it’s amazing how cozy, inviting and bed & breakfast vibes it can get. Speaking of breakfast it is included with your stay, you do need to reserve your spot each night at reception and pick your time/menu; selection is Japanese traditional breakfast and one “continental” option. Rooms are on the smaller side but it’s very open. We got one with private onsen, and it was very worth it, we loved coming at the end of the day to have that hot bath, our foot and body relaxed after much walking. The hotel is about 10min walk to subway station, 15 min walk to Tokyo Skytree, 12 min walk to river/cherry blossoms (if they’re in season), and 6 min to a 7/11. You have a lot of small shops around, a couple restaurants (we recommend the halal ramen), and even a popular matcha spot. The hotel staff has impeccable service and attention, they are kind and do their best to help you. They also keep your luggage on your check in/out days if you need them while you are out. Overall I recommend this hotel for couples and friends, mostly couples. LGBTQ people- we were treated with kindness and respect (we are 2 cis-women married to each other) when we mentioned it was our anniversary trip.
The staff was very nice and welcoming, the lobby is cute . The japanese breakfast was delicious. The location was convenient, accessible from Haneda airport , next to the Asakusa metro ( about 5 min walk) . The rooms were small but that's the usually the case in Japan . However , the windows didn't open and had no view and it smelled moldy , so there was no air circulation, we felt claustrophobic. We booked a double room . The TV was right next to the bed and weirdly place.
