Incredibly misleading listing of having a gym. The hotel itself DOES NOT HAVE A GYM. In the basement floor of the same building is a private gym that is a separate business and not a part of the hotel. You have to pay ¥2,178 per entry. They should not be able to list that the hotel amenities include a fitness center as it is a completely separate business that just happens to be in the same building. When we addressed the front desk and management about this, they admitted that it sounds misleading and that they have had this complaint before(with the quickness of their answers you can tell they gave this issue often). We asked them to compensate us in any small way they could for the knowingly misleading listing, to show some hospitality and make us feel heard. They said there was absolutely nothing they could do. As someone who works in hospitality there’s always SOMETHING you can do(a small gesture goes a long way), and they just refused to do anything. The only thing they said they could do for us is allow us to cancel the rest of our stay, which we did, since the fitness center was the main reason we chose this hotel. The rooms themselves are small and dated(standard double bed was tight for 2 adults). Most of the stars are for the closeness to the station and the free pastries. We found a much better accommodation around the corner at KOKO Hotel East and had a MUCH better and hospitable experience there.

Very good location. 5-7 mins walk to the Ikebukuro Station. Ikebukuro is 1 station away from Shinjuku. You can find a lot of good eats around the area. Very close to I’m Donut, Denny’s, A Happy Pancake, Mutekiya Ramen, TamagoKen, Yakiniku Like, Don Quijote (24 hrs), 7eleven, Lawson, etc. The largest anime center in the world is located 5 mins away from this hotel. There are department stores 5 mins away like Seibu, Parco, Uniqlo. Sunshine City is also nearby. The rooms are clean and more spacious than we thought compared to other hotels. Our Deluxe twin room (triple sharing) is 21sq.mts. We had 3 double beds. And Bathroom is small but okay. We love the shower with several shower heads (rain, handheld, 3 body nozzles). They have a good supply of shampoo, bath gel, conditioner, toothbrush on their dispensers, and the lotion packets, brush-comb, shavers are available at the lobby. The lobby has an unlimited supply of coffee and tea. We arrived early in the morning, they allowed us to have our luggages kept in the lobby while waiting for the 3pm check-in but we were too tired mid-day, so we had to pay a fee for early check-in at 1pm. The only thing that we didn’t expect was that they only make up your room every 3 days. They can throw your trash daily and change the towels daily.

A good hotel in a decent location in Ikebukuro (including being close to Ikebukuro Station), including being right opposite a convenience store. Lost a few stars for some experiences that affected my trip, including informing me that I was not booked in for entire duration of my stay, which immediately gave me anxiety upon arriving in Japan (it was resolved within a few hours). The room itself was very small but not unexpected. It was cleaned regularly but might not match some people's standards (corners and edges of the floor were usually left dusty). The window view was okay, mostly just plain buildings. The bed is very stiff but can be comfortable. There is some train noise audible but fine if you're okay with a bit. There are laundry machines but there are only 2 washers and 2 driers for the entire hotel and there was often one washer out of service so you may need to consider local coin laundry services. Staff were polite and helpful although they have varying degrees of English skills so be prepared to know Japanese or need to use a translator for more in-depth questions. It doesn't have a safe in the room Despite any negatives I've included, I'd still recommend staying here and I may also do so again in the future.

room very tiny even for 1pax (mine was 15m2 but feels like 11m2), impossible to unpack a 24 inch luggage. if u only have global adaptors this is not the best news as there is only one port for that and rest all for the jap charger. walls very thin and soundproof is about zero, you’ll hear your neighbours and also everything from the street (my room was facing the road). the cateye on the door also cannot be blocked which makes me uneasy, i slapped the DND magnet outside for peace of mind but ideally the option should be inside to block it. bed tiny i think only 1m wide? service tho is great, all staff are very helpful. location is alright, ur walking distance to lots of food and shopping.

Good location if you like to shop! Two big Donkis nearby, GU, ABC Mart, etc. Didn’t even have to go to Shinjuku.. everything I needed was nearby. The hotel itself is nice. Room is clean and spacious, checkin and out is easy. It’s quiet also in the rooms!
