Great Ryokan next to Asakusa's temple. The Ryokan offers a modern accommodation while offering the traditional ryokan-style accommodation. The staff offered an unparalleled service, extremely kind and helpful. The rooms are nice, not extremely spacious, but large enough to fit two futon beds, a small table with chairs. The bathroom was a bit cramped (causing the Toto toilet seat to rise every time you get in) but otherwise very functional and comfortable. The view is great, directly overlooking the Kamimarimon gate. The area is really lovely both at night and during the day. Additionally, it's very well connected to public transport, has plenty of shops and restaurants plus you can easily enjoy the temples at night with no crowds and just a stroll away from the Ryokan entrance. We also had breakfast with it and it was absolutely gorgeous! It offered different dishes every day, was abundant and delicious. I definitely suggest to include breakfast. I would suggest to upgrade the futon mattresses to increase thickness or firmness to help better isolating from the hard floor.
The location is perfect. Right in the heart of Asakusa, fun for exploring Senso-Ji and the kaminarimon street area. Thankfully, there is enough sound-proofing to prevent any noise from getting in. I should have known better and not booked a traditional room. The room was nice, but not for me. 😅
This hotel is outstanding! Staff takes hospitality to a high level making you feel welcome. A great start for my solo trip in Japan. The best location you can get in Asakusa for getting around the neighborhood and the rest of Tokyo. Will definetly come back if I had the chance!!
Kaminarimon Ryokan was such a fabulous place to stay. The view over the Kaminarimon Gate was amazing, especially at night when we could sit in our room and enjoy a little people-watching below. The location was perfect — so convenient to everything Asakusa has to offer, including wonderful food and the stunning historic Sensō-ji. The staff were incredibly kind and friendly throughout our stay, and even generously gave us a lovely gift at checkout. The room felt beautifully traditional Japanese, with tatami mat flooring, and low table and chairs to relax in. We also experienced the kaiseki breakfast on our final morning, which was beautifully presented, abundant, and full of traditional Japanese ingredients — such an interesting and memorable experience. I would highly recommend staying here.
I stayed at this ryokan for the last 2 nights of my trip in Tokyo, I am so glad I did! I booked a single person room directly from their website, the room and bathroom were very clean and spacious. There was a welcome treat which was delicious. I was able to bring my luggage in 1 day before check in and the owner/staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The location of the ryokan was great, it's right next to Senso-ji temple and many major train lines. I could get to the train station to go to Nikko or Haneda airport easily. The ryokan is very quiet and calm in the middle of a busy area, which makes it very unique. I took off one star for service because there was only 1 bottle of water, 1 towel, and 1 hand towel for a single traveler room, would be nice to have another set those in case extra is needed. But it's not a big deal. I would definitely come back again!
