Hotel Metropolitan Edmont
Tokyo
レビュー
My only negative about the hotel was how small the rooms can be even up to Tokyo standards but the hotel it self was amazing, location is great and it’s near by all of the trains. Staff here is extremely lovely and friendly and there is some great restaurants within the hotel it self, gym is exactly what you can expect in a hotel gym. There are dryer/washer machines, just have 500 yen in coins ready and you don’t need detergent. I would come back here again because of the hotel itself and the location which is near the trains and all of the amazing restaurants and things to do within the area.
The room was tiny, even by Tokyo standards with no storage at all (there was a folded suitcase rack but nowhere to open it and still pass thru the room). The bathroom OTOH felt spacious and was very comfortable. As in many Japanese hotels the mattress is really hard, we slept over rather than under the comforter and then it was fine for us. The hotel has a good breakfast buffet of both continental and Japanese dishes. It is similar to other Japanese hotels we’ve been to. What’s unique to this hotel is that they have a very nice and convenient laundry room which doubles as a lounging area. It was very nice. The machines do both wet and dry and their availability is reported on the room’s TV (haven’t seen that before).
Lovely and welcoming especially staff as we arrived early and they kindly offered to take luggage to be stored as room wasn't ready. Check in was easy and efficient. I was given decaf coffee when I asked and cases were brought to our rooms by staff with us alongside. Room was spotless , beautifully stocked with essentials. Lovely facilities of kettle, mugs and coffee machine were great as were the use of laundry with irons and the microwave. Suggestions- cutlery and chopsticks for room so we could eat food. Tea spoons for drinks would be useful. We reported the basin plug doesnt work, after 2 days it has yet to be fixed so you can't fill the wash basin with water.
We stayed at this hotel for five nights. While the accommodation itself was comfortable, our experience at check-in was stressful due to booking discrepancies. Our reservation was made for two adults and one child with breakfast included. However, upon arrival, we were informed that breakfast was only complimentary for adults and that we would need to pay separately for the child’s meals. Even after showing the booking details, the staff maintained this position and advised us to resolve the matter directly with the booking platform. This led to a prolonged discussion in the lobby. Unfortunately, the manager did not step in to clarify or assist, leaving the front-line staff to handle the situation. While the staff remained polite, the lack of managerial engagement was disappointing. Other aspects of the stay were smoother. The room was cozy and reasonably clean, and the facilities were adequate. Breakfast offered a fair variety, though queues at the coffee station were consistently long. Location-wise, the hotel is about a 10‑minute walk from the train station, which makes it fairly accessible for guests. Overall, the hotel provides decent accommodation and service, but the handling of booking issues and the absence of direct managerial support left a negative impression.
The rooms were a bit tight but manageable, for the time that we actually stay in the room. It was very clean. My wife loved the warm toilet seats lol. Service was great, front desk anything you asked for they found a way to please. The breakfast was really good, it was buffet style. They loan you free umbrellas on rainy days. They also have the great service of shipping you luggage to your next hotel or airport. That is super convenient not having to drag all the luggage in the trains. I highly recommend this hotel, I'm planning on going again and hope they have rooms available at good price when I do.
