We stayed at The Gate Hotel Kaminarimon for our Honeymoon and we really enjoyed our stay. The room is clean and quiet, despite near the central of Asakusa. The bed is amazing, the firmness is perfect for us. Pajama is very comfy. Bathroom is spacious and sparkly clean. Also highly recommended to check out their rooftop bar.
This was a last minute booking. Location is good - not as good as Tobu Hotel, yet prices are higher. I paid $300 AUD for one night in a basic, middle tier room. You have to pay a lot for a room with a nice view; and unless you book early, a lot of them are smoking rooms. Some of the female staff (at check in) were very rude - the male staff at check in was professional and keeping everything afloat. I’ve given an extra star for the room category and service category directly to him. But good location, good room (did feel like it was an inconvenience to ask to not look at a stair well though), and either terrible service or great service. I wouldn’t book here again - I’d go to Tobu Hotel Asakusa across from the station. There’s also an APA hotel across the road that I’d consider. I’ll edit this review after we’ve had breakfast here.
This was my husband’s favorite place during our trip this year. The location is excellent (Sensoji is literally like 30 steps away), and the hotel lobby/bar offers an amazing view. The room was also quite spacious for Tokyo standards. My husband especially enjoyed the bar—cocktails were very affordable (around USD $6/drink) and professionally made. Excellent service from the professional staff was a big plus. We ended up going there about four times which is a lot considering our two nights stay. There’s also an observation deck accessible by stairs from the lobby—definitely worth checking out. We would highly recommend this hotel.
I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff are very helpful, polite and friendly. Location is great and room is considered spacious in Japan. If you don’t have a hungry boy that requires a microwave for late night supper and a washing machine, then this hotel is really really a good choice. I personally love it so much. But no fret, supper can be found in many restaurants n kombini nearby …and they offer laundry service too. And yes, they have a great view of Tokyo Skytree and Sensoji at their lobby on the 13th floor or rooftop on 14th.
Solo traveler and stayed here for two nights and after careful research - It was a great choice. Room was great. Clean and comfortable. I give it a 4.5 (because I just came from a hotel with Ultra modern bathroom...if I didn't this may be a 5. :) View is as advertised. Bed was comfortable, room was spacious with plenty of amenities. Nespresso in the room. Their service was EXCELLENT. I am not a hotel breakfast person, but this hotel's breakfast was great.
