Sotetsu Fresa Inn Ginza-Nanachome
Tokyo
Beoordelingen
While the hotel offers relatively affordable rates for its Ginza location, the overall experience reflects the lower price point. The rooms are noticeably dated and could benefit from better maintenance. They are also exceptionally compact, even by Tokyo standards and for a solo traveller. Although the bed appears elevated, the space underneath is not usable for luggage storage, which further limits the already restricted floor space. Housekeeping standards also seem to be affected by staffing or time constraints. The room did not feel as well maintained as expected, suggesting that staff may not have sufficient time to thoroughly service each room. A particular concern was an intermittent unpleasant odour coming from the bathroom. Despite the ventilation system being in operation, the smell would periodically return, making each visit to the bathroom uncomfortable. Overall, the hotel may appeal to travellers prioritising location and budget, but those seeking comfort and a well-maintained room may find the experience disappointing.
Great hotel with great location right in Ginza. Only short walk from Shimbashi station. Super friendly staff, clean rooms with many amenities. Loved the FamilyMart on the first floor, super convenient for a late night snack. Would come again anytime!
Basic, small room. The bathroom feels especially dated with a tub too small to lie down in. It also has a smell of damp. However, the rooms are kept clean and the location is absolutely fantastic. There is a convenience store attached to the entrance, so that's very handy. And you're a short walk from a couple of major stations. I did have to pay a ¥1000 city tax for my three night stay that was not mentioned when booking, so be aware of that.
We stayed for 4 nights in total, with a 2-day gap in between. For the first 2 nights, we were allocated a room on the 7th floor, which was superb — we absolutely loved it. Two days later, we returned for another 2-night stay and were placed on the 11th floor. Unfortunately, the experience this time was quite different. The fridge wasn’t working properly — it wasn’t cold at all, just slightly cool. We reported this to reception and someone came up to check. We were told that these are not actual fridges, but coolers designed to keep items cool. However, this didn’t match our previous experience. During our stay on the 7th floor, the “cooler” was definitely functioning like a proper fridge — our milk and food were cold the next morning. This time, we tested it again with milk, and by the next day it was still warm. It would be better if the hotel could be upfront and honest about this. Based on this experience, we won’t be going back and would NOT RECOMMEND it.
