If you book a room at one of their staple properties (like a Fresa Inn), you can generally expect: High-Tech Conveniences: Free high-speed Wi-Fi, tablet-controlled rooms, and seamless contactless self-check-in/check-out kiosks. Free Amenity Bars: Instead of putting generic items in the rooms, their lobbies feature massive "amenity bars" where you can freely grab high-quality skincare, bath salts, tea packets, hair packs, and shaving supplies. Superb Transit Access: They strictly build their hotels near major transit hubs (like Shinjuku, Ginza, or Kyoto Station), making them incredibly convenient if you are traveling with heavy luggage.
Location and service is good. Rooms were quite small, but it’s expected in Tokyo. Can’t fully open 2 luggages. 2x Washing machines are available on lvl 2, along with other complimentary hotel supplies like cotton pads for make up removal, tea bags, pyjamas.
I prefer the sotetsu chain over others for consistent high standard. The room sizes are clearly advertised so ignore other people's feedback about the rooms being small . The location is great and the breakfast is at the cafe on the ground floor. The laundry machines also work quite well.
The room is quite compact, yet it is not overly spacious. However, the hotel's proximity to Ueno Station offers convenient access to various destinations by train, which is quite advantageous. Please note that the price may be higher during weekends and public holidays.
