I arrived, exhausted and jet lagged, alone with my young son, 20 minutes before check in and the staff told me that the room was ready but I would have to wait the 20 minutes or pay for early check in, so we sat and waited in the lobby. The room was absolutely tiny with no storage so we were tripping over our suitcases the whole time. The breakfast wasn’t very appealing and it is served in a bar, which still smells of the night before, so we ate food from the 7/11. Our final day at the hotel we decided to take a swim in the pool, so we went up to the pool area and took a dip. It was empty apart from me and my son, and within about 10 minutes a staff member came up to the pool and started aggressively shouting at us to get out. Shocked and confused, we immediately got out and I asked why we weren’t allowed in the pool. He told me it was an extra that needed to be paid for and booked in advance, and we hadn’t booked so needed to leave. I had no idea about this, I just knew there was a pool as it was advertised with the hotel. I was so shocked at the rudeness, and my son started crying because of the man shouting at him. I decided to check out a day early and moved to a nicer hotel as I didn’t feel comfortable staying there with my child after that incident.

This was a very suprisingly good hotel for the price we paid, we stayed 9 nights ,had breakfast 7 times , food was fresh and aboundant every day with a lot of different food and drinks. I want to say that staff is professional and ready to help any time. Room was cleaned every 3rd day which is more than enough and you can order to do it more often simply , there is Onsen bath for use and it is amazing because after long Tokyo days you neer relaxation , checkout is automatic and it saves you time. Overall amazing experience on a location that is between 2 metro stations 5 minutes walk from each. Don quijote is 3 minutes away , Lawson 2 and daily 3 , thank you APA for such a great experience

Stayed for 5 days as a base in Tokyo. Chosen mainly due to the location. Nearby a couple stations which were within a few stops from a lot of great tourist areas and hidden gems! Roppongi is a great area to walk through, day or night, and is only a short walk from the Tokyo tower. I didn't feel that the desk staff were super helpful. Every inquiry, from checking in, to questions about hotel services were directed to kiosks or your room TV info screen - which did not provide the most accurate info. The hotel has a restaurant off the lobby, and serves an AYCE breakfast buffet (¥2600), which was alright (not sure if so that again). On-site laundry was helpful (2nd and 18th floors), along with some drink vending machines and ice and water stations. Would absolutely stay here again.

Best APA branch I've ever stayed. Helpful and polite staffs. Nice location. The room is very new, clean. The lobby is spacious. They have everything I need with reasonable price. I'll come back for sure.

Pros: - Walkable to Roppongi Station - Will give you clean towels even when you don’t need them - Nice Staff - Nice view of Tokyo Tower from the street outside Cons: - Breakfast here is ¥2400 per person, compared to Sotetsu Kyoto location that charges ¥1400. It’s provided in the Sakura next door so that may be why it’s more expensive, but didn’t decide to eat here. - If you want to use their spa and have tattoos, you get two free cover up patches a day per person. Booked through Priceline so I wasn’t aware of their “no visible tattoos in the pool or spa” policy until I checked in (completely on me for not doing research). You may be able buy more for a fee or collect them over time - While they technically have a laundry room, don’t expect to use it unless you want to wait. Of their two washer/dryer combo units, two were out of order for our entire 5 night stay. Ended up going to a coin laundry a mile and a half away. - Sotetsu check out time is 11am vs APAs 10am. If you want to check out at 11am, APA charges ¥2000 (and potentially the same rate for each subsequent hour). This wouldn’t have been a deal breaker but after experiencing the items above, it felt like this hotel wants to get as much money from you as possible. All in all, APA is friendly but not accommodating. The hotel overall was a decent price but would recommend Sotetsu Fresa over APA if you’re looking for a budget friendly hotel.
