We had to moved rooms from 2nd to 3rd floor because of damp. The floor and walls were literally wet! We had trouble checking in because we were not sent the check in instructions and it cost us €100 to make a phone call and then call again to move rooms. - There is nobody present to help if you have an issue. Hard to contact. There’s no reception. - We never received an email with the checking code and It cost me so much money to ring them for help to check in due to international call cost (I’m from France). - Nobody empties the bin. - No Japanese toilet. - You have to wash your own towels. - We stayed for 10 days and nobody changed our sheets. - The whole room gets very wet. - As soon as you enter the building it smells of damp. - Condensation is very bad. We went to Disneyland for 1 night and when we came back to the Illi hotels Lima shibuya, the floor and surfaces was wet, even without anyone having a shower. You constantly having to wipe down the surfaces. The walls and floor is wet. The dehumidifier doesn’t work and is loud. - The bed is comfortable and everything is modern but the water is a safety hazard and after a few days I started to feel unwell. It icomfortable to be - the lack of information is crazy.
Good location. Small but clean and modern room. Small rooms are not inusual in the city but for the price it felt particularly small. Clean room, but no windows or natural light. Noisy at night, woken by birds early morning. There is an automatic light for the bathroom which turns on if you move in bed - very frustrating. It’s fine for a night but wouldn’t spend longer than one night there
Good - Brand new modern rooms, a 5 minute walk from Shibuya station and scramble crossing. There are many food options nearby. The area is very lively at night. Check in was very easy. Bad - This is not a hotel, more like an airbnb. There is no reception or cleaning service. You have to use the same towels for the duration of your stay. The hot water in the shower was not working several times during our stay. This was very frustrating. The toilet does not have the bidet that is commonly found in japan. The location is surrounded by some questionable establishments The soundproofing is poor and there is noise from the other rooms and outdoors, even throughout the night. There is a sharp incline when approaching the hotel, which is difficult with large bags. The room is small but this is common in Japan
My stay at illi Hotels Lume Shibuya was fantastic. The interior design was elegant and thoughtfully curated, creating a warm atmosphere that felt both stylish and comfortable. Every detail seemed intentional, making it a relaxing and enjoyable place to stay. The location is truly outstanding. It’s just a short step away from Shibuya’s main streets, yet slightly tucked away, offering the perfect balance between convenience and calm. Everything—from shopping to dining—is within walking distance, which made the stay incredibly convenient. The property was very clean and well-maintained, and it was clear that great care had been taken in managing the space. Even though it’s an unmanned hotel, the check-in process was smooth and easy to follow. Communication with the staff via messaging was quick and helpful, so I never experienced any inconvenience during my stay. Although I booked through a third-party site this time, I later found that the official website offered better rates, so I would definitely book directly next time. With its beautiful design, unbeatable location, and seamless experience, I was extremely satisfied and would love to stay here again.
