Man, look at this. You’re sitting on the upper deck of Aqua City Odaiba, staring out the massive glass windows. Right in front of you, the Tokyo skyline is putting on a clinic—the Rainbow Bridge is lit up like a neon fantasy, and a miniature Statue of Liberty is chilling in the harbor. And what are you doing? You’re sitting at Red Lobster Odaiba. Yeah, you heard me. Red Lobster. An American corporate seafood temple transplanted right into the hyper-futuristic heart of Tokyo Bay. On paper, it sounds like a joke. A cynical, globalized tourist trap. Why the hell would anyone come to Japan—the undisputed capital of raw fish perfection—to eat at a chain born in Lakeland, Florida? But then the food hits the table, and you realize something crucial: this is Japan, and they don’t do anything half-assed. The staff wheels out a live, snapping tank-fresh lobster to show you before it goes to meet its maker. When it comes back, steamed to an absolute turn, the meat is sweet, pristine, and perfectly firm. You dip a massive claw into a dish of melted butter, take a bite, look out at the glittering Tokyo night, and suddenly all your culinary snobbery just evaporates. The seafood paella is packed with actual, honest-to-God flavor, and the lobster pasta is richer than it has any right to be. They even serve wild local-themed curves like fried alligator meat with remoulade sauce and bacon-wrapped jalapeno poppers just to keep things weird. The service is impeccably polite, efficient, and delivered with that quiet, fierce Japanese pride that makes American chain hospitality look like a bad joke. Why four stars instead of five? Because let’s be real—it’s still a shopping mall restaurant. It lacks the smoky, grease-stained, beautiful grit of a tiny Shinjuku memory lane yakitori joint. It’s loud, it’s unashamedly commercial, and your wallet is going to take a serious hit because live crustacean luxury in a prime real estate zone doesn't come cheap. But as a surreal, beautifully executed mashup of American casual dining and top-tier Japanese ingredient execution, backdropped by one of the best views in the city? It is a glorious, hilarious triumph.

Mostly misses rather than hits for the dishes. Ordered the lobster pasta, lobster pie pizza and their seafood paella. Seafood paella was not nice. The seafood were baked/roasted to dryness. The mussels and clams were devoid of any moisture and felt like chewing on rubber and sand. Prawns were also sticking to the shells. Pizza tasted nice, albeit slightly salty while the lobster pasta had lobster shells in it. Only good thing is the view we got while dining as it faces the greater toyko bay and rainbow bridge.

Lobster was incredibly delicious! They showed us the live lobster before cooking it. Dipping it in butter and savoring each bite was simply heavenly. The shrimp pops were equally tasty. The view here is also quite pleasant. If you’re visiting this place, make sure to try the lobster. They claim to use lobsters from Canada. I had a bad experience with lobster in Vietnam before, as it had an unpleasant odor and taste. However, this experience has completely changed my perception of lobster.
