I stumbled upon a hidden gem of a Japanese-French restaurant in the Shinjuku West Exit area, a place I don't frequent often. The course, starting with sea urchin and shrimp blancmange, was meticulously prepared down to the smallest detail. The carrot salad and homemade focaccia appetizers were delicious, and the simmered abalone, with its rich flavor of liver, butter, and garlic, was exquisite. The smoked swordfish, served as a carpaccio, was wonderfully fragrant, and the slow-cooked duck was incredibly tender. The main course, domestic beef rump steak, was savored with its varied flavors from the Japanese-style sauce and wasabi. The final dish, a ramen broth made with fish scraps, had a rich, comforting flavor. The drop of water in the bowl was a beautiful touch, and the meaning behind it was explained to me. Even the semifreddo dessert was impeccable; it was a truly luxurious and satisfying lunch. The clientele was almost entirely female that day, and with counter seating available, it's recommended even for solo diners. I definitely want to visit again. #Japanese-style French cuisine Shinjuku Matsu 2026.01.17

This restaurant offers a fusion of Japanese and French cuisine, and the visual appeal and meticulous presentation of the dishes are particularly impressive. Each dish shows thoughtful consideration, the combinations of ingredients are interesting, and the entire course was enjoyable without becoming monotonous. The seasoning is generally mild, not too heavy, and easy to eat. The restaurant has a calm atmosphere, making it ideal for those who want to enjoy a leisurely meal. Rather than having a particularly strong impact, it's a refined and elegant restaurant, perfect for quietly enjoying a meal and conversation.

The entrance was a little hard to find, and I got lost, but it's a lovely restaurant with a hidden-away atmosphere. The owner runs the place by himself, but the service was smooth and stress-free. They were flexible in accommodating not only allergies but also disliked ingredients, and I appreciated their thoughtful consideration. The food was delicious, and the level of satisfaction for this price is amazing! I would definitely like to visit again.
