Hotel was clean and in my opinion it offers great value for money if one is seeking some place "just to sleep in". The lounge next to reception with free tea and coffee was really pleasant. The stuff was very kind and helpful. Personally I did not like the bathroom i my room. It seem to me very wobbly and provisional.
Other reviewers are quite aggressively rating this hotel, however traveling in Tokyo should only have you in your room for about 8 hours a day. People say it’s inconveniently located, but it is a 15 minute walk to Asakusa station (why come to Tokyo if you’re afraid of a walk?). The area is wonderful and quiet and located near an amazing shrine and park. The rooms were a bit tight, but nothing we didn’t expect based on the photos. We definitely had room to deal with our luggage and there were 3 of us. I’d recommend staying here if you like cheap hotels with great service, and aren’t afraid of not living in the lap of luxury for your time in Tokyo. The front desk was more than helpful with all of our questions! I’d imagine it wouldn’t be as great for people traveling with children who may need more time in the room, however it’s phenomenal for groups of friends and with your partners!
The room was small, which is fairly typical, but it was cozy and comfortable. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and provided good service throughout my stay. There are several convenience stores nearby, making it easy to grab snacks, drinks, or any essentials you may need. The main downside is the location. The hotel is quite far from the train station, and the walk can feel very long, especially when carrying luggage or after a full day of sightseeing. Overall, it was a pleasant stay with comfortable accommodations and helpful staff, but the distance from the station is something to keep in mind when booking.
First time in Tokyo. We were pleasantly surprised that this is situated in a quieter area of the city. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lawson is right across for anything you may need. Rooms were comfortable. I liked that they have welcome drinks (e.g., chocolate, tea, coffee, matcha latte) available in the afternoon til evening. Trade off is, it is a bit of a walk to commercial areas. It was a pleasant stay.
Formerly Smile Hotel rebranded to be Amanek Not that bad. Bedcover were great but if you are 180-200cm tall. This hotel might be not for you because the room size. The staffs were great, speak english very well and do a good hospitality The downside is the breakfast for 4 days eating the same thing. Well…at least you can have change 1 or 2 but not the same for entire week. The coffee machine were good though and yes, will I recommend to anyone ? Why not…good deal for Asakusa areas.
