The hot spring with the view was the part I liked most at Dormy Inn EXPRESS Asakusa, and the staff were welcoming throughout my stay. That said, the room noise was hard to ignore, and I could hear voices and alarms from bed, which made sleeping a challenge. If you’re sensitive to sound, that’s worth keeping in mind.
Very satisfied with my stay at Dormy Inn. The hotel is close to Asakusa Metro station, it has beautiful view to the Skytree and the Sumida River. You can enjoy the footbath and massage chair complimentary at the top floor which is just the perfect relaxation after a full day in Tokyo.
Dormy Inn EXPRESS Asakusa – Great Value Hotel Near Senso-ji Temple I stayed at Dormy Inn EXPRESS Asakusa for four nights during a business trip to Tokyo, from Monday to Thursday. Including breakfast, the total cost was around JPY 66,000, which I think is quite reasonable by Tokyo standards, especially considering the additional services and location. One of the biggest advantages of this hotel is its location. It’s very close to Senso-ji Temple (Asakusa Kannon Temple) and within walking distance of several train stations with different railway lines, making transportation very convenient for both sightseeing and business trips. The room size is also worth mentioning. In Tokyo, hotel rooms are usually very compact, but the rooms here felt slightly larger than APA Hotel rooms, which made the stay much more comfortable, especially for multiple nights or business travelers carrying luggage. Another important point is the room view. The hotel has: • Rooms facing the Tokyo Skytree • Rooms without the Skytree view I highly recommend choosing the Skytree-facing side if available. The night view is really beautiful and adds a special Tokyo atmosphere to the stay. Seeing the illuminated Tokyo Skytree from the room feels surprisingly relaxing after a long day. What also impressed me were the extra services: • Free late-night ramen (Yonaki soba) After late meetings or returning tired at night, having a free hot bowl of ramen available is a huge plus. It actually tasted very good and saves you from going out again to find food. • Public bath / onsen area and foot bath The hotel has a public bath and even a foot bath area, which is perfect after walking around Tokyo all day. • Free ice cream after bathing Complimentary ice cream after using the bath is a small but thoughtful touch that makes the experience feel even more relaxing. The hotel itself is not luxurious, but it’s clean, practical, and comfortable. For the price, location, and extra amenities, I think the overall value is excellent. Loved my stay at this cozy hotel. It has everything you need and it’s in the center Asakusa (3-10 min walks from the station and tourist areas). Our room had an incredible balcony view of the Tokyo tower. The traditional Japanese breakfast was amazing! There’s also an onsen that you go to after a long time (Note: the onsen days for men and women rotate between this one and nearby sister hotel that’s less than a 10 min walks. Overall would stay again.
Tiny, efficient room. We were on the second floor, so you could see the cherry blossoms so easily, but everyone in the park can see most of your room. It was $200 per night to see the peak cherry blossoms! They only have one elevator (still never waited more than 5 minutes), and they only have one onsen, so it switches from males to females-only at certain hours. The foot bath has a great view of the golden orb and the sky tree! This is a livelier part of town, so the quiet thrum of the city goes on til the early hours of the morning, but we didn’t have trouble sleeping. Overall a good value budget stay (we didn’t have breakfast, but it is less expensive than the other dormys we stayed at).
