For three people it was a little cramped but the actual place was quite lovely. There was some charm to the whole place, specifically liked the TV they had there. A nice marriage between old and new.
My lovely fiancée and I absolutely loved our stay here. The property offered excellent value for money and was located in a charming old Kyoto neighbourhood, away from the crowds but still within easy walking distance of attractions, restaurants, shops, and public transport. The traditional Japanese-style room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, with a kitchen, washing machine, and a wonderful deep bath that was perfect after a day of exploring. The room was thoughtfully laid out and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. A special touch was the cosy little bar downstairs, where we enjoyed drinks and chatting with the friendly staff. The housekeeping team did an excellent job throughout our stay, and we couldn’t fault the property in any way. If you’re looking for an authentic Kyoto experience before heading to Tokyo or elsewhere in Japan, we highly recommend staying here. We would happily return.
Very clean and comfortable apartment in a great location, walking distance to restaurants, shops and train station. Charming cobblestone alleyways to explore. We were on the second level so a small steep climb up some narrow stairs. Bar staff were friendly and professional. Checking in was a little confusing as we weren't sure where to go at first. Eventually we knocked on the door to the bar and got checked in. We would stay here again.
I always come back to the retro hotel, because of its style, great location and service. This time, we took the larger room downstairs, which has a separate living room and bedroom and a nice, Japanese style bathroom. It has all the amenities, including a washer and dryer. And some space to store suitcases in the bedroom.
Great place to stay. Traditional Japanese apartment style rooms. The bar was great and the staff is very friendly. I hope to come again and try more drinks from the bartenders here. The Okinawa style drink was amazing.
