We has a good stay, highly recommended. The only issues were minor, check in was automated and a little confusing. The shower had one temperature which got progressively hotter limiting showers to a few minutes. And the bed was a bit too small for me (6ft 1inch)
My stay here was brief. I only needed to stay in Shinjuku for one night and the location was perfect. My main issue is with the room itself My hotel room was very dirty. I found old boxes from McDonalds under the bed and a possible bloodstain on one of the pillowcases. The shower head was barely functional. I couldn’t adjust the temperature of the shower either. This isn’t the first Sotetsu Fresa Inn I’ve stayed at, but this was by far my least favorite. The quality of the room did not match the price I paid. I don’t think I will be staying here again
This was my second experience of a hotel room in Japan and whilst I understand that room sizes are generally on the small side, I found this room to be below standard. It was tiny, literally no room to lay your suitcase out. The bathroom was also cramped with very little room for your toiletries, so everything keeps getting in the way and falling on the floor. They need to remove the baths and install shower cubicles. Towels were as thin as paper and I was only given one of each which were never replaced. I also thought the room was overly dark with poor lighting. Ultimately the rooms need a makeover and modernising. I’m writing this from another 3 star hotel in a different part of town and thjs room is far superior and spacious. The one thing this hotel does have going for it is The location with a subway station three minutes away and numerous infamous Japanese convenience stores.
This hotel is very conveniently located near the elevator of Higashi Shinjuku Station, making it easy to access. There is a Lawson just two blocks away from the hotel and a 7-11 opposite the hotel, making it very convenient for day-to-day purchases. The room is slightly bigger than the Fresha Inn we stayed in Osaka and more modern and clean. Pretty happy with the stay here.
