Another excellent place to listen to some metal! Bartender was also an really nice dude, great taste in music, played some great local songs I didn't know, as well as stuff from overseas. Great variety in whiskey.
5/5 Stars - A absolute must-visit for metalheads in Tokyo! GODZ is a wet dream for any true metal fan! The interior decoration alone is incredible, but the overall atmosphere is what really makes this place amazing. They play an awesome selection of music with a great Western focus, and they even take music requests! Space-wise, it’s classic Tokyo—no real chairs, just bar stools—but honestly, they are still super comfortable. Plus, getting a pint of Guinness for only 1,000 Yen in the middle of Kabukicho is an absolute steal. An easy 5 stars, I loved every second here. I will definitely be back! Greetings from Germany \m/
A must for any metal fans! We went here right off the plane and were overwhelmed because they had live music in the room adjacent to the bar. Took us a while to figure things out, but had a rocking night with local bands. It was a Saturday, so it was crowded. Went back another night and had another great time I the actual bar. Staff were really nice and it was cool talking with other customers.

In the heart of Shinjukus Kabukichō lies Godz, well hidden in a basement location. This is the best metal bar in Tokyo, maybe on this planet. Godz is an institution, a small cultural treasure, for those of us who love Metal and metal culture. One of the most fun features at Godz is that everyone can write down and request songs.. like an analog Jukebox. Everyone who works here is genuinely a part of Tokyo's metal scene and they both know the music as well as how to run a good bar. Sometimes you have the privilege of being part of live jams and live acts down here in the other room.
