Description
Shinjuku
We will see the first 3D screen in the world, where we can see the Calico cat, Shinjuku's mascot and famous all over the world.
We continue our tour, to cross the great arch of Kabukicho Road, where we will see the head of Godzilla and tour the new Kabukicho Tower.
On our way back to the station, we will visit the famous Omoide Yokochō, better known as the 'Alley of Memories'. A labyrinth of narrow alleys full of small bars and restaurants.
Shin-Ōkubo
The Shin-Ōkubo area began to establish itself as a Korean cultural center in Tokyo.
Ōkubo Shopping Street is known for its abundance of Korean cosmetic stores.
The popularity of 'K-beauty' (Korean beauty) has transformed many people's beauty routine, introducing concepts such as double cleansing and the use of face masks, which have been adopted globally.
Ōkubo is also a hub for K-pop fans. Specialty stores sell albums, merchandise and clothing from popular artists.
Ikemen Shopping Street Ikemen (イケメン: translates as 'handsome boy') is lined with boutiques and stores offering men's fashion. You will also find a variety of Korean restaurants and cafes. The 'ikemen' culture has grown, with many stores dedicated to highlighting the fashion and lifestyle of young men in Japan, drawing inspiration from Korean and Western trends.
Harajuku
We will visit the famous Meiji Shrine, located in Yoyogi Park, as this is where Meiji and Shōken had picnics, and was awarded as the place where couples go to pray for a prosperous marriage.
After touring the temple, we will head to the famous Takeshita Street: symbol of Tokyo's alternative fashion. Today it is still a meeting point for those looking to stand out and experiment with fashion and makeup.
Shibuya
The Hachikō statue, unveiled in 1934, pays homage to the Akita dog that waited daily for its owner, Hidesaburō Ueno, at Shibuya Station, even after his death.
Shibuya Crossing (Shibuya Crossing) has become iconic for its intense flow of pedestrians and unique choreography. With traffic lights that allow all pedestrians to cross at the same time, it is known as one of the busiest crosswalks in the world, with approximately 2,500 people crossing in a single light cycle during rush hour.
Loft Shibuya is a popular department store in Tokyo, especially among those looking for unique stationery, design, decoration and gift items.
The Shibuya 109 building opened in 1979 and quickly became a symbol of Japan's fashion and youthful lifestyle. Inside, it houses more than 100 clothing, accessory and makeup stores. Here we can enjoy the view of the Shibuya Crossing.
Then we return to Shibuya Crossing to finish the tour at the station's observation deck.
