Description

Meet at Shinjuku Washington Hotel in the morning and prepare for your Nikko day trip. Alternatively, get picked up from your hotel in Shinjuku Ward, Toshima Ward, Taito Ward, Chiyoda Ward, or Chuo Ward (excluding Tsukishima and Harumi areas). Travel comfortably by vehicle from Tokyo to Nikko. The journey takes approximately 2.5 hours, allowing you to enjoy the changing scenery from the urban landscape of Tokyo to the beautiful mountain areas of Tochigi. Arrive at the first highlight of the day — Nikko Toshogu Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Japan’s most famous historical landmarks. Nikko Toshogu Shrine is dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Tokugawa shogunate, and is well known for its magnificent architecture, detailed wood carvings, and impressive traditional decorations. During your visit, explore the shrine area at your own pace and admire the beautiful craftsmanship, historical buildings, and unique Japanese cultural atmosphere. After sightseeing, enjoy free time for lunch. Choose your preferred local restaurants and try Nikko’s regional specialties. After lunch, continue to Nikko’s famous natural attractions — Lake Chuzenji and Kegon Falls. Located in the mountains of Nikko, Lake Chuzenji is one of Japan’s most beautiful highland lakes. Surrounded by mountains and rich greenery, the lake offers peaceful scenery throughout the year. Enjoy the beautiful lake views, admire the surrounding nature, and take photos with Mount Nantai in the background. Next, visit Kegon Falls, one of Nikko’s most iconic natural landmarks. The waterfall is approximately 97 meters high and is created by water flowing from Lake Chuzenji down the rocky cliffs. Surrounded by mountains and forests, Kegon Falls offers a breathtaking view and is especially beautiful during the autumn foliage season. Enjoy viewing the waterfall from the designated viewing area. In the afternoon, visit the Nikko hot spring area and enjoy a traditional Japanese onsen experience. Relax and refresh yourself in the warm mineral waters while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of Nikko’s mountain surroundings. If you do not wish to enter the hot spring, enjoy free time around Nikko Station, where you can explore nearby shops or purchase souvenirs. After completing the Nikko sightseeing experience, return to Tokyo by vehicle. Get dropped off at your hotel in Shinjuku Ward, Toshima Ward, Taito Ward, Chiyoda Ward, or Chuo Ward (excluding Tsukishima and Harumi areas).
