Description

Japan has preserved numerous intricate dyeing techniques using specialized tools. Nagashi-zome (flow dyeing) is a technique born during the samurai era (Edo period). In this workshop, we recreate this technique using a simple, original tube. By placing fabric inside the tube and pouring dye over it, this method allows the natural flow and the participant's intuition to beautifully dye the fabric. You can observe and adjust the blending of colors within the fabric, making it enjoyable even for beginners without special skills. You'll also enjoy a uniquely Japanese experience: folding and dyeing Japanese washi paper.
