Meeting & Transfer Option 1 - Tokyo Departure: Meet your English-speaking guide at Tokyo Station at 8:00 AM. Travel together by train to Yokohama while your guide shares fascinating sumo facts along the way. Join the rest of the group outside Yokohama Pia Arena MM by 9:30 AM. Option 2 - Yokohama Meeting: Meet your guide and the group directly outside Yokohama Pia Arena MM at 9:30 AM (look for the tour sign). After meeting, your guide will lead the group on a short walk to the sumo tournament venue. Main Event: Sumo Jungyo Tournament (10:00 AM – 3:00 PM) Enter the arena with your guide for a 5-hour immersive viewing experience. Witness the traditional Shinto-inspired rituals that reveal sumo's deep cultural significance, extending far beyond a mere sport. Do not miss the solemn ring-entering procession, the symbolic salt-throwing to purify the sacred space, and the powerful shiko (stomping ritual)—where wrestlers forcefully stamp the ground to drive away evil spirits. Cheer for wrestlers of all ranks, from rising stars to the legendary Yokozuna (the highest rank of Grand Champion)—the ultimate honor in the sumo world. Feel the palpable tension and raw power as they clash on the sacred dohyo (sumo ring). The tour concludes outside the arena around 3:00 PM. NOTE: Schedules are subject to adjustment based on traffic/weather conditions; minor deviations are to be expected. Outside food is allowed, and concession stands are available. Entry: If you arrive during a sacred ritual (e.g., the Yokozuna's entrance), you must wait until it concludes before being seated. Children: One child (0-3 years) may attend free of charge as a lap infant. A separate seat requires a full-price ticket. Please inform our customer service in advance if you are bringing a child. Luggage: The venue has no cloakroom or lockers. Please store large luggage elsewhere before arrival. Age: All participants under 18 require a parental consent form.
