Reviews
Although no one at reception/lobby, but they still provide service by communicating with online chat. Easy access to metro and just one stop to Asakusa and Akihabara. Walking distance to Ueno JR station and Ameya-Yokochō. Room was cosy, nice and clean. The hotel surrounding was quiet and peace. 7-11, family mart and Lawson are just around which was very convenient for us.
The place was great. We were far enough away from noise. (2 adults/2 kids age 10+) I love the AC and the space for 4 beds. The mattresses could be a little thicker. I appreciate the laundry. ***Small loads per wash. Cooking inside worked out. Soaps were in great supply. Grocery stores were within a 6-15 minute walk. (Life had a great selection.) Get the salt & pepper from 7-11 or a Lawson.
I really like the English support system—it makes things so much easier for tourists. On top of that, the staff went above and beyond when we had a problem. When my father needed an ambulance, they were so eager and ready to help. I’m truly impressed! The rooms were also clean, spacious, and totally worth the money. Plus, the location is great and so close to shopping spots!
We had a really pleasant stay at Hotel Minn Ueno Shin-Okachimachi. Our group consisted of three adults and one infant, and the room was very comfortable and well-suited for a family. The room was clean and complete with everything we needed—drying racks, extra blankets and pillows, a microwave, refrigerator, and a small kitchen. We had no issues at all with the shower water, which was a plus. Communication with the hotel admin was also very easy through the LINE app, and they were responsive and helpful. We chose a room with two beds on the floor, a sofa bed, and a futon. The space was good enough to open our luggage comfortably, and we were able to hang our winter clothes neatly in one corner. We also used the futon storage area as temporary storage for our shopping items, which was very convenient. The location is excellent—very close to Sukiya, 7-Eleven, and FamilyMart, and with easy access to the Oedo Line. We never experienced any waiting issues with the elevator, and overall, we felt very safe throughout our stay. Highly recommended, especially for families or groups looking for a clean, spacious, and convenient place to stay in Ueno.
This is a serviced apartment rather than a hotel so you can cook and wash/dry your clothes during your stay. There are only 2 negatives. The small size. 4 of us barely fit in the room. (2 adults and 2 teens.) Privacy was only in the separate toilet and bath area. And no service staff on standby, instead you talk to someone via a video call at the lobby. So you can't ask the hotel staff to help you book a restaurant or venue that only takes reservations in Japanese. But the convenience of having everything a temporary home has + it being right next to a station on the pink Oedo line makes this a great choice. We stayed for 10 days. Additional note for new travellers: like other serviced apartments, there's no daily housekeeping and in Japan, you're expected to sort your trash and cleanup your living space like you would at your own home. It literally says 'your second home' at the entrance.
