This hotel is in the perfect location. If you don’t want to be stuck in the crazy parts of Tokyo across from the Ebisu station, they give you a welcome coffee and ice cream and they have a great breakfast buffet, which is perfect. The staff are super friendlyThere’s laundry in some of the rooms which is so helpful. We recommend getting a queen room. The rooms are well appointed a bit small but cozy.

I was really looking forward to staying at the Tokyu Stay Shibuya Ebisu after reading glowing reviews shortly after it opened after a complete remodel in March 2026, but I was left feeing disappointed in the quality of service (or lack thereof) and bare bones amenities. While there were some highlights, the overall experience left me disappointed, especially given the price. My friend and I each booked our own Superior Queen room with a washer and dryer as our stay at the Tokyu Stay Ebisu was the final accommodation during our 3-week long trip to Japan as we wanted space from each other at the end of a long trip. We had our big suitcases shipped from Kyoto 4 days prior while we visited Hakone, and the hotel was diligent about accepting and storing our big luggage. The positives: the hotel accepted and stored our forwarded luggage without issue, the rooms were clean (for the most part) and modern, the in-room washer/dryer was convenient, the bed was comfortable, and I especially loved the ReFa showerhead, hair dryer, and bath amenities. However, the service felt surprisingly limited. Check-in was confusing: the automated kiosk issued room keys an hour before check-in time, only for staff to take them back and ask for an early check-in fee. The hotel operates with a very DIY approach—amenities are self-service, housekeeping is minimal, and even basic room features felt stripped down compared to other Japanese business hotels (lack of closet, lack of basic comforts, etc). The washer/dryer cycles were extremely long (4hr38min was the minimum, with 4 hours being the dry cycle), the AC was difficult to regulate, and there was very minimal storage space. The biggest issue was the lack of support when problems arose. I experienced significant noise (screaming toddlers) from neighboring rooms late at night, and when I reported it, staff offered to move me rather than address the source. I also discovered the phone in my room didn't work and was told to use a hallway phone instead, leaving me feeling vulnerable in the event of an emergency - which would come later in the stay. Unfortunately, I became severely ill with food poisoning during my stay and found the lack of hospitality especially noticeable. When I had medication delivered to the hotel, I was required to come to the lobby to retrieve it despite being too sick to leave my room comfortably. I asked the delivery driver to leave the meds with the front desk and have the hotel staff bring it to my room, and he told me that they refused to bring them up. Upon checking out, I asked for assistance in disposing of medical sharps, and staff spent nearly 20 minutes "researching" the issue before suggesting I take a 15 minute cab to a local hospital to dispose of the sharps myself (despite telling them I had a flight out of Haneda to catch and actively discouraging me from contacting the Kporta next to the hotel), whereas other hotels on my trip handled similar requests without difficulty. (The Kporta next to the hotel accepted the sharps without question or issue, despite front desk staff saying that because it was a weekend they would be too busy?) Everyone I interacted with was polite, but the staff often seemed inexperienced and unable to resolve issues beyond basic procedures. It was an instance where I wish I spoke Japanese and felt isolated without Google Translate. I was met with anxious smiles that said "Please be satisfied with my answer and do not ask any follow-up questions." For the premium pricing of nearly $185 a night, even with an early-bird booking deal, I expected, at minimum, a higher level of service and support. The renovation has given the property a stylish appearance, but the overall experience felt more like a budget business hotel with a luxury facade than the premium stay its rates suggest. I don't believe I have it in me to stay here again for obvious reasons (or at another Tokyu Stay property for that matter) when there are other business hotel brands that offer better service, more amenities, and greater overall value for a similar price.

Great experience in this brand new hotel. Staff is very helpful and willing to go the extra mile. Had difficulty finding good food for our 8 month old daughter and they helped us perfectly. And for us the breakfast was amazing, check out the Eggs Benedict for sure! Also with a baby is really nice to have a washing machine in the room. With great working air conditioning in the room and good tempature in the hotel itself.

Honestly this hotel made me reluctant to leave to the next place. While we ended up here by sort of accident, the location turned out really convenient for getting around while still being pretty calm. You definitely get the metropolis atmosphere but it's not too busy. There is a never ending list of great restaurants really close by as well. The room itself was really well designed and functional. We had everything we needed available and I must say the place was cleaned very well. Regarding the service experience, it was very pleasant. I regrettably did not ask the name of the girl who helped us, but her cheerful attitude was very memorable. Overall, a great stay and can recommend!

I had a really great experience staying at TOKYU STAY. The rooms were spacious, clean, and very well equipped — having a full kitchen made the stay even more comfortable and convenient. The staff were friendly and helpful, always making sure everything was smooth and easy. I also appreciated the quiet and relaxed atmosphere, which made it perfect for both work and rest. The amenities like the fitness center, laundry facilities, and free Wi-Fi added a lot of value, and everything felt well maintained and thoughtfully designed for longer stays. Overall, it’s a reliable, comfortable place that truly feels like a home away from home. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
