No regrets. Tried gyukatsu for the first time and will not forget it. All the dipping options for the set were incredible but the meat was fantastic alone. Melt in your mouth good. We were lucky to get a seat on a Monday night — no problem at all and we just walked in. English support provided.

Absolutely fantastic experience! We visited on a Monday evening around 6–8 PM, and despite it being dinner time, our food arrived in less than 10 minutes. We ordered the Japanese beef sirloin gyukatsu and the chuck tail flap gyukatsu, and both were incredibly delicious, tender, and flavorful. All of the staff were highly accommodating, cleaned up quickly, kept our water refilled, and most of them spoke great English, which made ordering completely stress-free. The restaurant is very clean and even has a customer toilet available for use. Highly recommend this spot for amazing food and outstanding hospitality!

I really enjoyed my meal at Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu Harajuku. The gyukatsu set came with a nice variety of ways to eat it, which made the experience feel a little more interactive and fun. Everything felt better than I expected, and the atmosphere matched the quality of the food nicely. I’d happily come back.

If you love beef, you have to try the gyukatsu here. Crispy, golden panko crust on the outside, and beautifully rare, tender wagyu on the inside. They give you a hot stone grill to sear each slice to your liking that sizzle and smoky flavor takes it to another level. The set comes with grated wasabi, soy sauce, salt, and a creamy dashi dip. I loved pairing it with the Japanese curry and fluffy shredded cabbage. Portion size is generous, and the rice + miso soup make it a perfect meal. Located in Harajuku (near Takeshita Street), so it’s a bit of a wait during peak hours, but the line moves faster than expected. Staff are friendly and explain how to cook the meat.

We had an amazing lunch. Happened to walk in as it opened, seated immediately. Ordered the Wagyu set and it did not disappoint. So buttery and so many options for toppings. Showed us how to grill very nicely. Would absolutely come back and want one nearer to us.
