Depart from vibrant Tokyo and journey north to the picturesque Nagano Prefecture on this unforgettable day trip. Please note that the bus journey will take up to three and a half hours, including two to three stops at service areas en route. Your adventure begins with a delicious Japanese beef sukiyaki lunch. Please send us a message if you would prefer pork or a vegetarian/vegan alternative. The highlight of the tour is an up-close encounter with the famous snow monkeys.
Nestled in the heart of Jigokudani Valley, Monkey Park offers a rare opportunity to observe these fascinating creatures in their natural habitat. They are accustomed to human presence, allowing you to take incredible photos. Please remember that touching, staring directly at them or feeding them is prohibited to ensure their safety and well-being.
If you travel between Jan 23 and Mar 1, 2026, your tour will also include a visit to the magical Kamakura snow huts. These beautifully illuminated snow domes create a mesmerising spectacle, making you feel as though you have stepped into a fairy tale.

- Participants: This tour welcomes participants from one person onwards.
- Drop-off: The tour concludes with a drop-off back in central Tokyo.
- Language: This tour is guided in English.
- Clothing: It will be cold and icy! Please come prepared with warm clothes and anti-slip shoes.

- Please note that it takes more than 30 minutes to walk from the parking area to Jigokudani Yaen-koen.
- No refunds will be given if you are unable to see the monkeys.
- Please note that the monkeys do not spend most of their time in the water.
- Monkeys can be territorial, so please avoid direct eye contact.
- Depending on the number of participants, the coach size may vary (medium or small).
- No drop-offs in Nagano Prefecture and custom pick-ups in hotels in Central Tokyo.
- Thank you for not leaving rubbish on the bus when you finish the tour.

- Please note that the lunch served will be 'Beef Sukiyaki'. If you do not wish to eat beef, please let us know an alternative when you make your reservation by sending us a message. Other meat options include pork instead of beef, vegetarian (including egg and dairy) or vegan (entirely plant-based). Fish and chicken are not available.
- Please note that from mid-March, monkeys may not enter the hot springs depending on the weather on that day. Even in late March, on days when it snows you are more likely to see monkeys.
