Description

Discover the secrets of gut-friendly Japanese superfoods in a 2-hour class in Tokyo. Learn about the history, food culture, and health benefits of fermented foods from a certified instructor. Enjoy this unique class in the very convenient location (10 mins from Shibuya Station via Ginza Line). Discover amazake, a traditional fermented sweet drink that has long been enjoyed in Japan as a way to stay energized during the hot summer months. We also use Sakekasu (sake lees), which is also good for health and rare to try for visitors (Note that sakekasu contains around 8% of alcohol. It can be switched to banana for those under 19 or those who prefer to avoid alcohol with prior notice.) The class is just 2 hours long, making it perfect even for busy travelers. Fermented foods are so specialized that very few classes exist, making this a one-of-a-kind experience. And this is a vegan class. Venue: 2 mins walk from Akasaka Mitsuke Station Starts : 2pm Ends : 4pm MENU (may be changed depending on the seasons): Sakekasu Raisin Paste with Wheat Crackers: Cream cheese like taste without dairy! Very tasty, fragrant aroma with the flavor of sake! Matcha Amazake Jelly with Orange Sauce: Try this healthy and tasty jelly, so refreshing flavor! Shiratama Dango with Black Sesame Amazake Paste: Shiratama dango is mochi-like rice bolls. Served with black bean amazake paste, very nutritious and tastes like peanut butter! Shiratama Dango with Amazake Kinako: Shiratama dango is mochi-like rice bolls. Served with Amazake Kinako (Japanese soy bean powder). Amazake Lemonade: Refreshing lemonade with a little sweetness of amazake! Special Offer : We also have another class, Fermented Food Lunch Class, starting at 11am. If you join both classes on the same day, you will receive a special gift — rice koji amazake, the one we use in the dessert class. https://www.getyourguide.com/tokyo-l193/tokyo-japanese-fermented-food-cooking-class-t1076970/?ranking_uuid=7e9b8b92-e67c-4706-9ec8-6d8d704aba4b
