Description

Immerse yourself into the elegant kimono culture and traditions of Tokyo's oldest district Asakusa. Choose from a variety of kimono styles and enjoy a professional photo shoot along the scenic back streets near the iconic Sensoji Temple as an add-on option. In addition, enjoy the unique taste of Japanese green tea Matcha and learn about the proper way of drinking it according to the traditions of the Japanese tea ceremony. Visit kimono rental shop YUI, located a 4-minute walk from Asakusa Station and 2 minutes from Kaminarimon gate. Choose from a wide lineup of kimonos and summer yukatas for various occasions. After the dress-up, the staff will provide you with a suitable hairstyle and colorful accessories. Footwear (wooden Japanese sandals geta) and a traditional handbag will complete the dressing experience. Kimono rental shop YUI offers a vast array of kimono, ranging from easy to wear light kimono for street walks to traditionally made silk kimono for official occasions. The shop owner practices tea ceremony and will complement the experience with a short lesson on how to drink Matcha tea according to the Japanese traditions. Feel free to explore the scenic streets of Asakusa district at your own pace for the rest of the day until 17:30 when it is time to return the kimono. If you opt for the photo shooting add-on, a professional photographer will accompany you and introduce the most photogenic spots around Sensoji Temple and Sumida River. The session will last 60 minutes and the captured photo data will be sent to you to download after editing within a week.
