[What to Expect]
1. Choose Your Favorite Word or Phrase
Explore a variety of sample calligraphy works, each with its unique meaning and cultural significance. The instructor will explain the meanings in English, helping you find the perfect one that resonates with you.
2. Practice Makes Perfect
Using special hanshi (calligraphy paper), you'll practice writing your chosen word or phrase. Each participant receives 20 sheets, allowing plenty of time (about 30 minutes) to refine your strokes with guidance and tips from the instructor.
3. Create Your Personalized Souvenir
Once you’ve mastered your chosen word, transfer it onto a souvenir item of your choice—uchiwa (traditional fan), shikishi (decorative board), or a kakemono (hanging scroll).
