Description

Asakusa Sumo Club Annex is a premium, more intimate branch of the popular Asakusa Sumo Club, offering a refined sumo entertainment experience in a cozy and private setting. This is an immersive and entertaining sumo show where you can explore the culture of Japan’s national sport through its history, rules, rituals and traditions. The experience begins with a graceful geisha dance on stage, and after the performance you may take a photo with the geisha before moving on to an introduction to sumo history and culture. A real sumo ring is set in the center of the restaurant, creating an authentic stage for the performance. During the show, you can enjoy a delicious sukiyaki bento made with Japanese A5 rank wagyu beef, hearty chanko nabe and matcha dessert served in a comfortable and elegant environment, along with a wide selection of beverages including Japanese whiskey, draft beer and soft drinks. ※Vegetarian meals are also available with advance notice at least two days before the show. You will watch real training techniques and see dynamic sumo bouts between our sumo wrestlers performed up close. Guests who feel brave are welcome to enter the ring and take part in this unforgettable sumo challenge. ※The number of challengers is limited for each performance, and if many guests wish to participate, the final participants will be chosen by drawing lots. After the show, you will receive special souvenirs and a commemorative photo with the wrestlers. Everything takes place in a VIP style venue designed for a private, relaxing and luxurious experience. Our venue features three seating categories, allowing you to choose the level of comfort and exclusivity that suits you best: • Standard (Table Seats) Includes a sukiyaki meal with chanko hot pot and one free drink. Comfortable table seating with a clear view of the performance. • Business (Sofa Seats) Includes a sukiyaki meal, tempura, chanko hot pot, and unlimited drinks. Spacious sofa seating offering excellent visibility and a more relaxed, premium atmosphere. • First Class (Front Row Sofa Seats) Includes a sukiyaki meal, tempura, chanko hot pot, unlimited drinks including premium Japanese whisky such as Yamazaki, and an exclusive souvenir set with happi coat. Front-row sofa seating closest to the ring for guests who want the most immersive experience. We take great care to create an environment where every guest feels welcomed and well looked after, making your visit truly memorable. Please note: this show is performed by retired sumo wrestlers for entertainment purposes. Those wishing to see the training environment of an active sumo stable may explore other available experiences.

Important Information

• Please note that this is an entertainment-style sumo show and is different from a serious early-morning training tour. It is designed to be enjoyable for both adults and children. If many guests wish to participate in the Sumo Challenge, participants will be selected by lottery. Souvenir items may vary depending on the season. The restaurant is not wheelchair accessible due to stairs. Vegetarian and vegan meals are available but must be requested at least two days before the reservation date. If a request is not made in advance, a regular meal will be prepared. We are not able to provide gluten-free or halal meals, but guests are welcome to bring their own food if needed. You may be seated together with other guests.
