Description

Embark on a one-day journey to explore the natural beauty and cultural gems surrounding Japan’s iconic Mt. Fuji. This carefully curated itinerary showcases the best of the Fuji area, with spectacular views and unforgettable experiences throughout the seasons. Begin at Arakurayama Sengen Park, one of Japan’s most iconic photo spots. Climb 398 steps up the 'Konohana-sakuya-hime Stairs' to reach the panoramic viewing platform overlooking the Fuji-Yoshida cityscape. In spring, over 650 cherry trees bloom, while fall paints the path in vibrant reds and golds. Next, head to Yoshida Honmachi Street and capture the hidden gem of a traditional Japanese townscape blending seamlessly with a perfect view of Mt. Fuji. Located in the heart of Fuji-Yoshida, this retro-style shopping street offers one of the most photogenic perspectives — like a stairway to the sky leading straight to Mt. Fuji. Continue to Oshino Hakkai, a peaceful village home to eight crystal-clear spring ponds fed by Mt. Fuji’s snowmelt. Designated a Natural Monument of Japan, the ponds reflect surrounding forests, skies, and Fuji’s majestic peak. Thatched-roof houses, wooden bridges, and flowing streams create a storybook-like countryside atmosphere — often dubbed the “Jiuzhaigou of Japan.” Then, step aboard a boat modeled after a Sengoku-era warship and enjoy unobstructed views of Mt. Fuji from the lake. With open decks and a Japanese-style cabin, the Appare boat offers a truly immersive viewing experience, especially on clear days when the mountain is mirrored on the water's surface. Finally, visit Oishi Park, a lakefront park offering sweeping views of Mt. Fuji paired with seasonal blooms. In spring, golden rapeseed blossoms and cherry trees dominate the scene; summer brings a sea of lavender; autumn offers fiery red kochia; and in winter, the snow-covered landscape reflects the inverted Mt. Fuji on the water.
