Description

Welcome to Ueno, the birthplace of Tokyo! Before Shibuya, Shinjuku and Harajuku even existed, this was the heart of Edo more than 400 years ago. That history shaped the flavours of Japan, and today Ueno remains one of the best places to taste real local food made with heart! Our CEO (Kaho Tachikawa) was born and raised right here, so this tour takes you to the places locals actually love <3 The restaurants and izakayas we visit are not trendy or touristy, but warm, authentic and full of character, places that have been serving delicious Japanese food for generations :) You won’t just taste Japanese cuisine, you’ll experience it through stories, traditions, and dishes that tell the story of Tokyo. We sit down at each stop and enjoy a variety of classic favorites like freshly prepared sushi, Gyoza, grilled yakitori skewers, Ramen and savory simmered dishes. Our guides are the number one reason guests love this tour Friendly, energetic, and full of stories they bring the food and the neighbourhood to life. They love answering questions and will happily share local recommendations to deepen your stay in Tokyo :) Whether you are a couple, family, or traveling solo, we want you to leave with a real connection to Ueno and its culinary history! We look forward to welcoming you to the neighbourhood that started it all! All the best from Team Sunrise Adventure :) Note: This is not for those who are: Vegetarian, Vegan, Pescatarian, allergic to gluten. (Traditional Japanese Food does not accomodate for this, but send us a message and we will see if we can find a good solution for you)
