I've stayed in hotels in Tokyo, Osaka, Hachinohe, Towada, and Aomori, and this was the cheapest hotel so far but still decent value for what you're paying. I think the Japanese hotels like Super Hotel and Daiwa Roynet are better, but those are more expensive too. Pros - The washroom has a full length mirror which can be used when showering. - The AC in the room is great, it works fast at heating or chilling the room. It also works as good white noise for sleeping at night. - There is coin laundry in the basement. It is 200Y for the washing machine and 100Y/30 minutes for the dryer. The dryer is very low temperature and it took me 400Y (2 hours) of drying and my clothes were still not fully dry. Points for improvement: - Please add conditioner to the bathroom rather than just body soap and shampoo - The floor is wood instead of carpet, so needs to be vacuumed often. When I entered the hotel room, the floor was not completely clean and had some dust. It was not cleaned a single time during my five night stay (if it was, I did not notice so it wasn't cleaned well) - Need to add a clothes deodorizer spray as every Japanese hotel chain has this. In the winter it's fine, but you need one in the summer. - The water is not consistent in being heated. The faucet water takes a very long time to turn hot, and when showering the water may suddenly get cold. Overall, for next time I would much rather pay the extra amount to stay at a budget Japanese chain like Super Hotel or Richmond Hotel, but for the price, Changtee gets the job done.
