Loved this place. It's super cozy and homey, owned by a very nice family. If you want to stay away from the hustle, but still have a good metro access, it's honestly perfect. I came back here and stayed pretty long, it's the most home I've felt in my solo trip. Loved the common area, the free coffee fruits and snacks, and the rooms which were very spacious and comfortable. Would really recommend❤️
This guesthouse was honestly perfect. Everything was extremely clean, which made the stay very comfortable and cozy. Everyone during my stay was very respectful and quiet, so it was really peaceful. I also loved having access to the kitchen and the free coffee. The mattresses were comfortable, the lights were turned off after 11pm, and the place was very quiet (you don’t hear the street or outside noise). I also appreciated the space next to the beds to put my backpack, it was very practical. You can really feel that this is a family-run guesthouse and they take great care of the place. I highly recommend it 😊
I stayed at Tokyo Hikari Guesthouse for a total of about two weeks during my month-and-a-half stay in Japan, and I truly cannot say enough good things about it. Isa runs the guesthouse with his family, and they live in the building. You can feel that this place is run with heart and soul — something that feels increasingly rare these days. As a traveler, that matters to me. One thing I especially appreciated is how much the guesthouse reflects a healthy, thoughtful way of living. The laundry detergent is all natural, the shampoos are natural — small details, but they say a lot about the values behind the place. Isa genuinely cares about nature, about his neighborhood, and about the community he lives in. He’s very involved locally, and that community-oriented spirit is something I respected. The cleanliness deserves special mention. The guesthouse is absolutely immaculate. I saw Isa himself cleaning every day, carefully attending to every corner of the house. Cleanliness is extremely important to me, and this place exceeded expectations. He also provides a list of local recommendations, and I visited many of the places he suggested — they were all incredible. You can tell he’s put a lot of thought into not just running a guesthouse, but creating a meaningful experience for the people who stay there. I wholeheartedly recommend Tokyo Hikari Guesthouse. It’s a place run with care, intention, and genuine kindness, and it made my time in Japan more special.
I had such a wonderful stay at Tokyo Hikari Guesthouse! 💕 Isa-san and Yumiko-san are the sweetest hosts — so kind and caring, they truly made me feel at home. The guesthouse is in a quiet area but still close to many great spots, super convenient! Everything was clean, cozy, and filled with good vibes. The other guests were also very friendly and respectful. I’d definitely love to come back next time I visit Tokyo! ☺️🌸
