This Sakura Tei inside the beautiful Design Festa building, which showcases original artists and their work (and I bought a lot of it!!) is very special. The walls are painted and the atmosphere is bustling. It was my first time trying Okonomiyaki, and I was drawn in by the photo but had no idea what I was doing. I quickly figured it out! The ingredients are fried DIY in the hot plate at your table. They provide plenty of sauces and toppings, like Okonomiyaki sauce and Mayo and Dried seaweed flakes to add flavor. As my first experience eating this style of cuisine, and in a really cool location, I def recommend anyone to check it out! Have your Google Translate ready, though, if you don’t speak Japanese.
We stumbled across this amazing place while exploring Harajuku and we’re so glad we did. We tried the okonomiyaki and it was absolutely delicious. The staff were so friendly and happy to help wherever it was needed, which made the experience even better. The servings were very generous and the prices were really reasonable too. We will definitely be coming back next time we visit Japan! 🇯🇵✨
This gem is hidden away in a quiet side street in the heart of Harajuku. We visited during an off hour (3pm) but service was fast. English menus and easy-to-follow English instructions for making your DIY okonomiyaki and monjayaki were provided. Vegetarian and vegan options are clearly labeled which takes the guesswork out of ordering. The vibe is quintessential Harajuku, with colorful local street art and hip hop music. Highly recommend for a fun interactive dining experience!
I liked it. The food was great! Our hostess/waitress was very nice. It’s very spacious inside & out. Define come by here if you want a relaxed little cooking session. This is my 1st time in Japan but if I ever come back I’d love to come back here.
