Great sushi in the heart of Asakusa 5 mins walk from the main Sensō-ji Temple Clearly signposted to be halal compliant. The servers are well spoken with English and courteous as you'd expect with Japanese hospitality. There's a wide range of choices on the menu including a lunch set menu for trying a range of options. It's almost a show to see the care and attention to detail taken when preparing the food especially when sitting on the counter being able to watch the preparation right in front of you I arrived bang on opening time at 11:00 and there was already someone ahead of me. This place gets very popular so be prepared for some waiting around if arriving at busy /peak times, but it will be worth it. Definitely would recommend if in the area and looking for halal friendly sushi
Honestly, some of the best halal sushi I've had. The freshness is superb—the fish is firm, clean-tasting, and naturally sweet. It’s amazing to find a spot that keeps the flavors so authentic while being fully halal. The rice was perfectly seasoned too. Highly recommend checking them out! Reservations are required to make sure you get a seat !
Great restaurant with comfy seatings and friendly staff. You can see the chefs prepare the sushi in front of you (bar seats only). Though we had our lunch at the table. Our first dish is uni sushi (the highlight of the meal) it was SOOOO GOOD! The tuna sushi I had were fresh, however you need to pay additional Yen for the sweet sauce. Only the salty soy sauce are provided + wasabi. There are a number of options for sushi / sashimi as well as grilled/fried fish options btw (if you don’t prefer it raw). The unagi was average, the sesame seeds kinda ruined my palate. Overall it’s a great place to stop by for Muslim travellers. Will visit again whenever in Asakusa. *Plus point: the toilet upstairs is super clean✨
Stopped by Asakusa Sushi Ken and had a pretty good meal overall. The sushi tasted fresh and everything was prepared well. It’s a solid spot if you’re in the area. That said, it definitely feels like a very tourist-facing restaurant. One thing that stood out was that they ask for tips (with suggested amounts going up to 25%), which is very unusual for Japan where tipping isn’t standard. That part felt a bit off compared to the typical dining experience here. Overall the food was good, but the vibe is clearly geared more toward tourists than a traditional local sushi spot.
This spot was nice as they are Muslim and halal friendly! The menu wasn’t as big as I hoped so I felt limited. They do offer sushi sets, but I was disappointed because some items like squids were in every set and I don’t eat that, so it made it limited for me to order. I did try their rolls and they were freshly prepped in front of you. The place is good for families and stroller friendly which is a plus if travelling with a baby! They do have ordering rules, so you need to take that into consideration! I did only get the rolls and all was good. Service was great. Very attentive and kind. Food also came quickly. I definitely recommend. I just wish they have more variety for the sushi sets.
