A wonderful place! The chef has a wonderful personality. It was a real pleasure to watch him prepare our dishes, which were not only delicious but also beautifully presented. We only managed to eat here once; it's a shame we didn't have time for a second visit. Reservations are essential.

Waunn is a Japanese cuisine restaurant(very small) located near the edge of Asakusa, just next to the 2nd gate. The set I had had a variety of seafood which was fresh and sweet, it was obviously sourced from great ingredients. When my food arrived, the staff briefed us on the origins of the food as well as information to be noted. The service was also excellent, staff were attentive. However it shall also be noted that this restaurant is aimed towards mainly tourists and you require booking most of the times BTW remember to buy the individual soy sauce bottles it is delicious and fresh, it brings the sashimi up to another levels

Because it was located in Akasuka, I was a little nervous it will be another tourist trap. On my 27th Japanese 🇯🇵 trip, so I can be hard to please, but I was pleasantly surprised with Waunn. A last minute booking, I was surprised they could fit us in on a Golden Week timeline. On the outside it was a little traditional wabi-sabi style inn, but on the inside is where maestro sushi chef craft his magic 🪄 with meticulous fresh seafood bowls into works of art. Fresh is a given at this price bracket, it’s the works of art that had me. We ordered the set menu of seafood bowl and chirashi each, and I am still dreaming of them. The best part was a warm service, with the owner chef conversing in both Japanese & English. He had plenty of stories to tell. It’s a wonderful elevated dining experience without the premium omakase price tag you find with renowned sushi establishments. A lovely refreshing take on fresh seafood with detailed dining experience. Can’t wait to come back.

Located in Asakusa, just near Senso-ji Temple, this place feels like a traditional Japanese home tucked right in the middle of a bustling street. We ordered a few dishes, all made with incredibly fresh sashimi. The chirashi came beautifully arranged like a little garden in a bento box honestly the most stunning chirashi I have ever had. What makes this place truly special is the attention to detail. They make their own soy sauce and wasabi, and you can really taste how carefully every ingredient is selected. Even the rice is unique instead of plain white rice, they serve a pumpkin rice with unagi, which adds such a special touch. The uni box was absolutely mind blowing. You can enjoy it with soy sauce and wasabi, and they also serve it with dashi broth on the side so you can mix it in, which completely elevates the experience. The dashi itself is prepared separately and presented almost like a performance, making the whole meal even more memorable. I will definitely come back every time I visit Tokyo. Everything from the food to the service was amazing the chef was so kind and friendly, and the place is spotless.

The most perfect dining experience I've ever had. I feel like I've been lifted into another dimension. Look at my seafood bowl. It's perfect. The restaurant is in a beautiful traditional Japanese house. The interior has pristine, clean, minimal design. The staff was so attentive, kind and passionate about the sourcing of the seafood. I will tell all of my friends and family.
