Shinjuku Hikeshi Gyoza
Tokyo
Reseñas
This was a little 24 hour hole in the wall that had amazing gyoza and a relaxed atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and experience. We did have a bit of a learning curve ordering from a virtual menu, especially as you still pay at the register! Otherwise everything was great!
Kakekomi Gyoza had a large selection of gyoza, and everything I tried was amazing. I liked that there were a lot of different options, so it felt easy to try a variety of items. They also had horse sashimi, which I tried, and it made the experience feel more unique. One thing to know is that you order your food on your phone and then pay at the cashier. Overall, it was a really good meal and a spot I would recommend.
This was the first dinner of our trip and didn’t disappoint! The gyozas were DELICIOUS and so many options to choose from. Seating at the counter and watching the chefs at work was an added bonus. We loved the atmosphere which was fully part of the experience. In addition to the gyozas we ordered several types of pickles which were also all delicious. Super nice casual place if you want to have a fun and delicious meal!
I visited Kakekomi Gyoza in Kabukicho, with my friend to try their popular do it yourself premium fruit daifuku with a matcha set experience. It was very easy to find, as you just turn right at the famous Toho cinema in the Kabuki-cho. First of all, I got very intrigued with their Edo period firefighters squad’s station themed design. Even the bathroom was decorated with firefighters themed pictures! The staff made sure that everyone is cheerfully greeted from entering the store. They were totally prepared to welcome foreigners with menus and instructions in English available and staff can also speak English. The experience, which turned into fun workshop, included: ・4 sheets of moistured mochi skin sheets, 4 types of fresh seasonal fruits and whipped cream. You can wrap up 8 pieces and mix and match the fruits according to your preferences. ・ A set of matcha, which you need to whisk by yourself, with kind guidance from the attending staff, the amount of matcha powder was enough to make two cups ・Drawing a fortune paper for more sweets. I draw a great luck, so I was awarded with pudding with bitter caramel sauce, My friend got an average luck, so she enjoyed fruit flavored ice cream In case you draw a bad luck, be ready for an an extra spicy chocolate sauce ・ A plate of ice cream mochi-Yukimi daifuku, decorated with more fruit, which you can enjoy after heated DYI experience Extra bonus! Open 24 hours a day, so you can fulfill your craving for Japanese sweets at any time of the day or night. Make sure to come hungry and try this set with your friend or family. It will certainly make your trip in Japan more fun and enjoyable.
Who wouldn’t be obsessed with tender wagyu drenched in silky egg yolk After coming back from Kobe without getting my fill of beef, I continued the hunt in Tokyo. This all-you-can-eat spot in Kabukicho, Shinjuku, 8910 yen per person, serves huge slices of wagyu, with a melt-in-your-mouth fat ratio, paired with egg so smooth it almost feels unreal. One bite and I was literally spinning with happiness. And the vegetables are unlimited too. Who understands that feeling of pure salvation when you finally get enough veggies in Japan The gyoza platter is such a fun surprise. Multiple flavors make it perfect for indecisive people: pepper, ginger, kimchi, and more. Sharing it with friends feels like opening a mystery box together. Just make sure to eat them while they’re hot: crispy on the outside, insanely juicy on the inside, bursting with flavor in one bite. The owner is full of energy. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a big “Welcome to Japan!”. The dining atmosphere is genuinely amazing. Raw eggs, rice, and soup are alsounlimited, so you can totally DIY your own wagyu + raw egg rice bowl for double the happiness. Instagram:take.a.bite.lynn Follow for more food reviews!
