We loved the seafood bowls here! The restaurant is small, but we really enjoyed the casual counter seating. We ordered one ginza mountain bowl and the tuna, salmon, minced tuna bowl and both were incredibly fresh and tasty. I especially love that you get a miso soup on the side🤍 The scallop on top of the ginza mountain bowl was so soft and juicy and the salmon pieces were quite generous. Would definitely come back here for the price and the amazing location!
Being in Japan means always having seafood within your reach, that is not only fresh, but also diverse, and affordable, even if you are in the midst of a very urbanized city like Ginza! Just a very short walk from Itoya, I went to 📍 海鮮丼 銀はち 銀座店 which has been serving seafood lovers for more than two decades. It is a very homey restaurant, (foreigner friendly! ) with just counter seats, where even the vibes of the background music reminds you of the sea. Their free cold Ocha allows you to wash your palate to fully enjoy all the distinct flavors. Featured is their signature dish, the Chutoro (medium fatty bluefin tuna) gave me a balanced and gentle umami, harmonizing with the creamy sweetness of Uni, the popping taste of Ikura, layered over the flavors of the rest , a fulfilling meal with a reasonable price.
Definitely a hidden gem in Ginza! I'd love to visit again because the prices are very reasonable, and the portions are well-balanced, especially with the miso soup included. The service was also excellent. As soon as we were seated, a staff member came to explain the menu, which made us feel very welcomed. The other staff members, who I assume were foreign employees, were also very friendly and greeted us with warm smiles throughout our visit. The only minor point I'd like to mention is that the refill water jug was placed only near our table, and we didn't notice any at the other tables. It may have been because we visited around 5 PM, which wasn't a busy time, but it felt a little unusual. Other than that, we were very satisfied with both the food and the service. As a suggestion, perhaps the restaurant could attract even more customers and tourists by distributing small leaflets around Ginza or having promotional materials available near the entrance.
Very yummy fish/seafood rice bowls. Decent prices for the area, saw many locals having dinner here, and the place offers lunch menu with cheaper sets. I had salmon with avocado bowl (¥2080), my boyfriend had Ginza mountain bowl with mix of diced fish and scallops (¥1980). Bowls look small but it was enough for us as we don’t usually eat too much. The fish tasted really good and fresh, salmon slices were thick and big. Good dinner. Service is fast, polite staff. Come here if you’re stuck in Ginza, hungry and don’t know where to eat fast. This is a place for you!
