This time we had the course menu! Appetizer Sashimi Tempura One dish 8 pieces of sushi Miso soup Dessert A cozy sushi izakaya has opened next to Aoyama Gakuin University! Everything was delicious, but the sea urchin didn't have that alum taste, which is a big plus!! The crab claws were also delicious! The sushi rice was slightly warm, which was very comforting. The scallop roll was also luxurious! The sushi is served little by little, so you can enjoy it while drinking and chatting. As an izakaya, they also have many à la carte dishes, so it would be nice to just drop in for a drink. It's a new and clean restaurant, so it would be good for dates or business dinners! I want to go again!
A wonderful restaurant in a great location, just a 3-minute walk from Omotesando Station. Aonami is a stylish, modern Japanese restaurant located on the first floor of Ivy Hall, next to Aoyama Gakuin University. I was looking forward to it, as they have a reputation for high-quality, fresh seafood, sourced directly from fishermen. I enjoyed the chef's choice sushi course in a calm, Japanese-inspired setting. [Chef's Choice Sushi Course Ao] • Appetizer: Sesame Tofu topped with Sea Urchin • Sashimi: Scallop with Ponzu Jelly • Tempura: Crab Claw Tempura, Scallop and Salmon Roe Tempura Rice Ball • Side Dish: Grilled Alfonsino (Kinmedai) with Pine Cone Design • 8 Pieces of Sushi: Cuttlefish, Horse Mackerel, Mt. Fuji Salmon, Sea Bream, Salmon Roe Rice Bowl, Medium Fatty Tuna (Better than Otoro), Sea Urchin, Alfonsino • Miso Soup • Dessert: Yuzu Sherbet [My Recommended Menu] ■ Sushi: The sushi is definitely the highlight! The medium fatty tuna (better than Otoro), sea urchin, and alfonsino were melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I was also happy to enjoy plenty of salmon roe. ■ Grilled Alfonsino (Kinmedai) with Pine Cone Design: Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside! I could never cook this well at home, so I was very grateful. The atmosphere is great and it's very comfortable, so I recommend it for special occasions like this one, or for girls' nights out. It's also good for dates, and there's a private room in the back, so it seems like it would be comfortable for families as well. The location and atmosphere were both great, so next time I'd like to try some of the menu items other than sushi.
A hidden gem of a restaurant nestled on the first floor of Ivy Hall, next to Aoyama Gakuin University. Aonami is located about a 3-minute walk from Omotesando Station. My friend and I visited after work, wanting to enjoy some delicious food. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by a calm and relaxing space filled with the warmth of wood. Among the various courses available, we chose the "Omakase Sushi Course Ao" (Chef's Choice Sushi Course Ao). Each dish showcased the chef's meticulous craftsmanship and dedication. The menu included an appetizer, sashimi, tempura, a side dish, 8 pieces of sushi, miso soup, and dessert. It began with sesame tofu topped with sea urchin, followed by sashimi of seared bonito. Served with ponzu jelly, it was refreshing. We enjoyed the tempura, including fried crab claws and scallop and salmon roe tempura rice balls, while sipping our drinks. Ordering was done via QR code, allowing us to enjoy our drinks and food at our own pace. Among the dishes, the grilled golden snapper with a pine cone-shaped fin was exceptional; the skin was crispy, and the flesh was fluffy. It had a wonderful aroma and a satisfying texture. The sushi consisted of squid, sea bream, salmon, and tuna, but it was cleverly presented to prevent boredom, and a small bowl of salmon roe appeared midway through. The rice was so tender it almost crumbled, and the temperature was just right, creating a perfect harmony with the toppings. Each piece offered a different delight; it was refined sushi. After the sushi, we relaxed with a warm bowl of miso soup. Finally, we finished with a yuzu sherbet and an elegant dessert. We were able to unwind and relieve the fatigue of work in a sophisticated atmosphere.
Very solid quick stop in lunch! Few items on the lunch menu but if you’re looking for something quick and easy, it’s a good option! Got the sashimi lunch set and the sashimi was very fresh!
At Aonami, located about a three-minute walk from Omotesando Station's B3 exit, I tried the newly introduced "Omakase Sushi Course Ao." The course offered a multifaceted experience of the deliciousness of seafood, starting with rich sesame tofu topped with sea urchin, followed by the fragrant straw-grilled bonito, lightly battered fried crab claws, scallop tempura musubi, and fried golden-eyed snapper wrapped in pine cones. Each dish was carefully prepared and presented. The nigiri sushi was incredibly fresh, and the layers of flavor, including horse mackerel, crested squid, kelp-cured red sea bream, and Mt. Fuji salmon, were wonderfully layered. The latter half of the course, with seared alfonsino, otoro, and sea urchin, was also extremely luxurious, making for a very satisfying course. Considering the content, it offers great value for money and seems versatile for dates, business dinners, and entertaining.
