Got the regular size and was surprised by how much noodles there were. The noodles were thick and firm with a nice chew. The dipping broth was well balanced, not too heavy or salty, though I would’ve preferred it served hotter so it stayed warm longer. I added two extra slices of chashu. They had good flavor and a nice amount of fat, but were a little too tender. One piece was falling apart as I tried picking it up with my chopsticks. The shichimi spice ball wasn’t really for me. The citrusy notes were stronger than I expected, while the chili paste on the table suited my taste much better. Came around 10:30 AM and didn’t have to wait. Ordered through the vending machine and the food came out pretty quickly.
Dine in 28 May 2026. It takwa about 15 minutes queing after 1 pm. I ordered Ramen regular ¥ 1100 with add topping bamboo shoot ¥150. They give you an apron in case splash from slurping. The ramen broth ia super thick from bone broth. Noodle is al dente. There are condiments to add on at the table : vinegar, bonito powder (sachet), Yuzu powder, pepper powder, and the one in wood case is special Japan seasoning for ramen..And in a black bowl aside is Chili paste. Also there are ice water jug and the hot jug is kombu soup : please add on to ramen broth of you taste too salty. It's local favourite to eat here. So try of you're in Atre Ueno.
I got the 並盛の特製生七味つけめん. As always, excellent tsukemen. Thick noodles got good Q. The chunky thick broth was flavorful. The metal thermos on the table contains broth which you will add to your leftover dipping sauce after you have finished your noodles, to turn it into soup. I do not understand why the noodle place next door always have long lines and neglect to see this one exist.
This is subpar to my overall ramen experience in Tokyo by far. I ordered the dipping noodle but the noodle is slightly too stiff (I usually enjoy al dente noodle) and the soup is far from hot enough. Towards the end I was just straight up having icy noodle - that is wrong on so many levels. The egg is also not flowy so definitely overcooked. The flavour of the dipping soup is not bad so I still gave 2 stars overall. Would not recommend however. Not worth any wait for sure.
This is a very delicious Tsukemen shop that is famously popular and operates several branches across Tokyo. I was pleased to find that this specific branch was not crowded when I arrived around 11:30 AM, so I didn't have to wait long, though a line quickly formed as I finished. The flavor is genuinely good, and the portion size is extremely generous, even for the regular size! Highly recommended, especially if you get there before the peak rush.
