My mother, sister, and I were treated to COUCAGNO by my おばさん and her niece, both Tokyo natives. I can say that I have never had such an amazing EXPERIENCE, because this was far more than just coming to some restaurant to eat. The host and staff were extremely warm and welcoming from start to finish (and we were late after arriving from Haneda Airport!), and the ambiance felt like a sanctuary away from the world. The 40th floor view of Tokyo added to the quiet, peaceful vibe. Each item was presented and served with great care, plus additional attention to sharing the ingredients involved to make each item in house. The host and staff were certainly very gracious since my Japanese was not quite enough to understand everything that was said. The food was not just beautifully presented, but complex and flavorful from start to finish. I look forward to visiting again!
